Dragon Failtasmic!, Halloween creeps in, California Adventure construction, MORE
Disneyland's popular Fantasmic! show ended its summer with a bang this weekend, but not in a good way. The show's giant dragon audio-animatronic collapsed mid-show on Saturday night, prompting the cancellation of the show's second performance and a flurry of Disney fan chatter on Twitter and the MiceChat discussion boards. Yet, as a major Disneyland show screeched to a halt this weekend, construction around the Resort continued in full force on numerous projects including California Adventure's major expansion and remodel and the Disneyland Hotel's multi-year renovation project. And as the final scorching hot, heat-wave stricken days of Disneyland's summer season passed, the first signs of Disneyland's annual Halloween and fall-time decorations began appearing along Main Street, U.S.A..Dateline Disneyland - News, photos, and construction updates from the Disneyland Resort

Weekend Update’s Mouse-free Extravanganza
We devote a lot of space to Disney around here. So much so, that it can be easy to forget that there are lots of wonderful parks and attractions in the world which weren't built by the house of mouse. Today's Weekend Update takes a look at some amazing places which don't have Disney in their name. One of those places is Ocean Park in Hong Kong; although Ocean Park wasn't built by Disney, they are working hard to improve the park after Hong Kong Disneyland upped the ante five years ago - and by most accounts, Ocean Park is winning this battle. Sir Clinksalot takes us on a tour of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in northern California. Everyone enjoyed Expedition Evan's report on Dollywood last week so we're following up this week with a trip to Biltmore House which is just a short scenic drive from Dollywood. Finally, we have a trip to the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, brought to us by Werner Weiss (You know Werner – he's the curator of our sister site YESTERLAND [1]) - who found a bit of old Disney at the fair. Enjoy your Disney detour and have a fantastic weekend! [1] http://www.yesterland.com/ -

Theme Park Battle In Asia: Universal vs. Paramount
Disney, Universal, Paramount and others have been rushing to build parks in Asia. These parks are, at times, even better than the originals in the USA that they are modeled after. Today, Alain Littaye, our French friend from Disney and More, takes a look at a possible new Universal Studios park for India and a new Paramount park for Japan which will compete directly with Universal Osaka. It is a fascinating theme park battle.Theme park battles in Asia - Universal in India, Paramount in Japan

Clues To A New Ratatouille Ride Hidden In Plain Sight
We are putting on our detective caps today to go sleuthing for a major new attraction on the way soon to the Studios park at Disneyland Resort Paris. Last week, we covered the opening of the underwhelming Toy Story Playland, but construction at the fringes of this new land give away what is coming next . . . a Ratatouille ride. The signs are hidden but all too obvious when you take a closer look. Yes, it's yet another PIXAR ride shoehorned into a Disney park, but this time, it's a really high quality one. Let's dive into the fun and look at the photographic evidence and insider info for what is yet to come. -
Dateline Disneyland – Red Car Wigwag, A Bug’s Path, Screamin’ Blue, Construction, Star Tours, and MORE
Getting through Disney California Adventure got a bit easier this week as the permanent connector path between the Hollywood Pictures Backlot and A Bug's Land opened for business. The new path finally puts an end to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Flik's Fun Fair dead-end area and will result in some increased foot traffic. The opening of the new path also marked the completion of the new section of Red Car Trolley track in the area. The new Trolley is already making quite the mark on the park in terms of quality and theming, and that's saying something considering the trolleys won't actually be using the new tracks for another two years. Speaking of coming attractions, construction continues at the upcoming Little Mermaid and Cars Land attractions and over in Disneyland, Star Tours continues its makeover. Join us for photos, news, and construction updates, including a scene by scene look at the new Cars Land attraction, Radiator Springs Racers. -
Weekend Update – Mickey, Dolly, and R2D2
Star Wars, Dollywood, and Mickey in Paris. Ahhhhh, yes, it is another wonderful weekend update. This week we have double the Star Wars goodness. First up, the unfortunately named "Last Trip To Endor" event at Disney World, regardless of the controversy that it has stirred, the event itself looked quite fun. Then we visit the Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando. Next up on our world tour, we take you to Dollywood, deep in the Smokey Mountains. We think you'll be surprised just how lovely and well themed this park is! And the icing on the Weekend Update cake are vintage postcards of Mickey Mouse on a trip to Paris long before there was a Disneyland in the city of lights.Weekend Update - photos and trip reports from Disney and theme parks all over the world

It isn't every day that a whole new land opens at a Disney park, but that's just what happened yesterday at Disneyland Resort Paris. Don't worry, we've got every inch of the controversial new land covered for you, including HD video. Toy Story Playland NOW OPEN – Part One
The Disneyland Resort in Paris has a whole new land opening at their Studios park - Toy Story Playland officially opens to the public today! The author of the definitive book on Disneyland Paris, Alain Littaye, takes us on a tour of the new land with glorious photos and HD video. We have so much to share that we are breaking this review into two parts. Which is only fitting since this is the first of two Toy Story Playlands being built in the world, one in Paris and one at Hong Kong Disneyland. There is no doubt that this new land is cute with lots of Toy Story details, but fan reaction will be mixed since the entire land is made up of themed carnival rides without a single Disney style dark ride or immersive family attraction. Take a look and let us know what you think. Is this a land you'd want added to your local Disney park?
