Hello Disney lovers!  It’s time for another trip through the Disneyland resort with yours truly.  Today’s update doesn’t bring any breaking news, as we already know about the major plans for Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee.  We are all well aware that Sleeping Beauty Castle is fully decked out in diamonds, glitz and bunting.  The Tomorrowland Preview is running in the Magic Eye Theater, Innoventions is closed to install a 60th anniversary exhibit and we couldn’t be happier with that.  We also see refurbishments in Adventureland with Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye down while a portion of the queue for the Jungle Cruise is getting some attention.  In Disney California Adventure the Freeze the Night dance party is defrosting back into the Mad T Party and the Grizzly Peak Airfield is just a few weeks away from being unveiled. There are many other projects happening in the parks, including the imminent return of the Hatbox Ghost to The Haunted Mansion, the renovations of Peter Pan’s Flight, the Matterhorn Bobsleds and the Pinocchio’s Daring Journey.

I am taking over for Andy today while he deals with a family issue. Our thoughts are with him. Adding to the woes, another member of the MiceChat Family just lost her father, who was a very dear friend to us as well.  With all that is going on, with all of the news that we have been on top of, and in consideration of all the things happening at the moment, we have decided to take a different approach to the update today.  It’s time to relax.  It’s time to take things slowly.  It’s time to be thankful for all of the wonderful things in life. You’ll get some news today, but you will also be asked to slow down and enjoy the ride, take in the scenery, smell the flowers, and above all, celebrate life.

We find ourselves once again at Disneyland in Anaheim California.  It’s another beautiful day as Walt Disney’s original park continues to delight and entertain.

Adventureland

In Adventureland we see that two iconic attractions are receiving some love.

Jungle Cruise

While still open, a portion of the Jungle Cruise queue is getting some attention.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye

Closed until the beginning of the Diamond Jubilee, Indiana Jones sits quietly.

New Orleans Square

In New Orleans Square, Le Bat En Rougue façade is under refurbishment. The store is open during the work.

Frontierland

Nothing much happening in Frontierland, but it was certainly a beautiful day.

Fantasyland

Checking in with Fantasyland, we can’t help but stop and admire the world-class gardens that are maintained here.

 Matterhorn Bobsleds

The Matterhorn Bobsleds are all cleaned up and awaiting the seat “pad” installation.

Spring has brought an abundantly green and fertile look to one of the nicer areas of the park.

We close this update at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, where Freeze the Night is out and the Mad T Party is rapidly moving back in.
