PaigeOHara2The Walt Disney Birthplace restoration project is right in the middle of its “Let’s Make It Beautiful!” campaign and they have announced a fantastic event to mark the close of that campaign: “Broadway To Hollywood,” with featured guest Paige O’Hara, Disney Legend and the voice of Belle from Beauty And The Beast!

MLW2Taking place on May 29th at the world-famous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (where the first Academy Awards ceremony was held), the night will also include musical performances by Michael-Leon Wooley, the voice of Louis the Alligator from The Princess And The Frog, and a group of renowned Broadway stars, who will all be singing songs inspired by Ms. O’Hara’s stellar career. Along with the mega-smash Beauty And The Beast, her amazing theatrical résumé includes performances in Showboat, Les Miserables, Oklahoma!, South Pacific, and many more.

Other very special guests include Disney Legends Bob Gurr and Floyd Norman, and Disney artist Joseph Yakovetic. It’s a pricey event; general admission tickets are $150.00. But that includes dinner, cocktails, all the live entertainment, and the rare opportunity to meet and mingle with some true Disney royalty. And the proceeds go to help fund that cause near and dear to our hearts, the restoration of Walt’s birthplace.

If you really want to go first class, they are also offering a V.I.P. ticket for $750.00, which will allow you to dine right up front at the same table with Paige O’Hara, and send you home with a “special keepsake gift.”

And here’s one more pretty incredible reason to attend this event: Floyd Norman, Joseph Yakovetic and former Imagineer and themed entertainment artist Shane Grammer are creating custom artwork to be put up for sale during the night’s silent auction. We’ve seen Shane’s completed piece and trust us, it’s awesome, a painting almost any Disney fan would want to hang in their own home.

Tickets are on sale now at Eventzilla HERE.  Several of us on the MiceChat staff will be there and we hope to see you as well. With your help, we can not just save Walt’s historic Birthplace but make it truly beautiful as well.
