A Wizarding Update from Universal Studios Hollywood

It’s a gigantic update today from Universal Studios Hollywood, the entertainment capital of Los Angeles. It’s all about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter as we bring you a huge photo update from the construction site. You will not believe the amazing progress that has been made. Still, there is plenty to get done before the area opens one year from now. Next up we share more from Springfield U.S.A. where Luigi’s Pizza and the Duff Beer Brewery have opened to guests since our last visit. Next up we take a ride on the world famous Studio Tour for a glance at the goings on in the backlot. Of course, this includes a glimpse at the Fast and Furious Supercharged Tram Tour attraction under construction at the end of the tram route. As part of the Road to Fast campaign, Universal has released another poster featuring Tyrese Gibbs. Ready to hit the pedal to the metal?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Peeking into the summer of 2016 we see amazing progress and detail in the construction site of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The intricate snow-capped façades of Hogsmeade are the entry way into this new land. From the Shrek 4D queue we are also afforded a panoramic view of Hogwarts, the show building for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

From inside the park we see what will soon be the main entrance into the land.

Will we soon see the Hogwarts Express parked here?

Moving on, we take a look at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

Here we see the grids of mesh being installed that will soon become rock work.

The one thing we are still a little concerned about is the proximity of the Universal Creative buildings to the construction site and how that will effect sight lines.

Along the far end of the building we can also see where the façade ends and the show building begins.

They have begun planting trees on the hillside leading up to the area.

Taking the escalator to the Tram Tour we can see Hogwarts through the canopy.

From a level below we get another angle of the construction.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to open in 2016.

Springfield Update

We now return to Springfield U.S.A. as the Luigi’s and the Duff Brewery are the latest new offerings opened to the public. The official openings will happen next week.

Outside things transition to Duff Gardens and there are plenty of flat screens delivering Simpsons clips and sound bites.

“Hey, Surly only looks out for one guy … Surly!”

We have yet to see the Bumblebee Man’s Taco truck open just yet.

Studio Tour

We now ride the world famous Studio Tour for a look around the backlot. Most importantly we are taking a gander at the progress on the upcoming finale attraction, Fast and Furious Supercharged, which is slated to open on June 25th.

They have updated all of the displays in the queue area for the Tram tour. Nice.

Fast and Furious Supercharged

Universal has been slowly offering more and more information out regarding the new attraction. As we reported earlier, this will be a finale to the studio tour with a new plot being woven into the tram tour throughout the backlot.

As part of the Road to Furious campaign, Universal has also been delivering videos and new artwork to celebrate the arrival of the new attraction.

CityWalk Tyrese Gibbs Concert

Speaking of Tyrese, we were fortunate enough to be in the area when a FREE concert was offered at CityWalk by none other that Tyrese Gibson himself.

The crowd really seemed to enjoy the show, dancing and singing along. The Selfie Stick population was through the roof too!
