Frozen Franchise Invades Disneyland Paris
by Max Fan, DLPWelcome
Hi everybody, it’s under a threatening sky that we offer our latest Disneyland Paris update.
The floral Mickey features the colors of Spring!
The entrance paving is complete and is continuing on to the Disneyland Hotel. A very nice result.
Welcome to Disneyland Park
New speakers have appeared on Central Plaza, facing the center.
The Lancelot’s Carousel is now in rehabilitation until July 24.
Dumbo has reopened with a dedicated photo opportunity at the entrance to the queue. Note that the strings previously used to form the queue are being replaced by hard guardrails.
As promised in our previous column, here’s a comprehensive tour of Alice’s Curious Labyrinth. We note that all of the figurines are in good shape, quite different from the Castle where rehabilitation is long overdue. Unfortunately, the labyrinth’s floor is worn and the attraction’s paint shows the effects of the many visitors and the climate: flaking, faded and moss is growing on the walls.
All aboard…let’s go!
The storefront of the Pizzeria Bella Notte is under renovation. The black dot on the canvas is the camera.
At Space Mountain, the painting moves to the dome.
The renovation of Videopolis continues. Repainted areas makes it looking like a toy building!
Captain EO’s presence is still felt in the Park although the film itself has gone to a new galaxy.
In Frontierland, all the wooden floors have been covered. Protection for wet weather or hiding rotten wood? We will continue to investigate.
Work is underway on the facade of the Lucky Nugget Saloon and on the roof of the Rustler Roundup Shootin’ Gallery. The Shooting Gallery should reopen on the 3rd of July.
The facade of the Bonanza Outfitters is now as good as new.
Work is in progress at the Chaparral Theater: the room is now partitioned and the rocks are painted in blue and white (ice effect), the frame of the central screen which will be retractable is being installed and fake fir are already growing.
On the side of the Cottonwood Creek Ranch, an arch is being built at the entrance of the future Arendelle store.
At Adventureland, the Bazaar has started its upgrade of the ground and the laying of paving.
New gates are complete outside the park.
Most of the fences were removed in front of the cinema Gaumont revealing the new demarcation of the Disney Village.
At the Rainforest Café, the mushrooms have now small dots of color.
The former skating rink at the Hotel New York is gone and the grounds are fully paved.
The work on the Newport Bay Club Hotel is really dragging on. The scaffolding around the left side of the picture below is about to be removed. Judging from the pool building, the final result will be superb.
Thank you for reading. We’ll have more from Disneyland Paris for you very soon!
Max
