Wow! It’s been a really busy week! And a short one, too. Don’t worry, it’s almost over. Here’s some news to help get you through to the weekend:

Holidays with the Sanderson Sisters

Yesterday, Walt Disney World announced that the spooky, silly Sanderson Sisters from the hit film Hocus Pocus would be the stars of all all-new show at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween-Party in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida. The show, called “Hocus Pocus Villains’ Spelltacular”, will take place in front of Cinderella Castle and feature the Sanderson Sisters, who get to come back for just one night to throw a party and run amuck (“amuck amuck amuck!!!), put a spell on you, personally, and bring back Disney villains like Dr. Facilier and Oogie Boogie, according to  Shawn Slater, Communications Manager, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment. I met Shawn at Paint the Night. He, like me, is a GIGANTIC Richard Sherman fan. I love it when Disney actually puts Disney fans in charge of stuff. But hey, I’m biased. Want to impress me? Get Garry Marshall back in the devil suit.

I attended the first Mickey’s-Please-Change-the-name-to-something-with-less-hyphens-party when Alice was very small. We loved it! We’re going for the second time this October. It will be fun to see what has changed in the past two decades. Alice was on the fence about going, but as soon as she heard about the Hocus Pocus show, her mind was made up. Hey, isn’t that during the 2015 MiceChat WDW Invasion and Gumball Rally and Stuff?

Doc McStuffins Moves In

The soon-to-be-renamed Disney’s Hollywood Studios welcomes Dottie “Doc” McStuffins to the Animation Courtyard. The six-year-old toy and stuffed animal doctor (her mom’s a doctor for human beings) will join Jake from “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” and Princess Sofia from “Sofia the First” near “Disney Junior – Live on Stage!” to meet and greet the younger set.

Chris Ambrose, the park’s general manager of Entertainment, says: “We’re particularly excited about having Doc McStuffins here as she is very popular, portraying a character who is aspirational and diverse – resonating with all our young Guests as a role model.” I’m glad to see it, but I hope we don’t have to wait as long for Miles from Tomorrowland. Agh, now I have to play the song. It’s on my Playlist, probably permanently. It’s my “it’s a small world”, but I love it. I love it sooooooo.

There is Another. And Another. And Another.

There are three Star Wars Weekends left to go. So far, first-timer Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) was the surprise hit of the event, but on weekend V(June 12-14) Frank Oz will be making his first appearance, and from stories of his days hanging with Jim Henson and co., attendees might be in for some great stories. Darth’s Mall is bigger and Her Universe is more involved, with creator Ashley Eckstein (and voice of Ahsoka Tano) hosting the “Padawan Mind Challenge” trivia contest. Every night ends with “Symphony in the Stars”, there are stars from the films everywhere, but all attendees seem to be posting photos of are Jabba the Hutt salted vanilla cupcakes. My people, go figure.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things

Not news, but just something very, very cool. Will Gay, who is awesome, from Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group (Disney’s social media group), which is awesome (Check out their Star Wars Weekends ad, using only ep 4 and park footage they shot themselves! Damn!) Did a what-if Disney thing, which I love, about the Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain, which I love, and the Moonliner, which I FREAKIN’ LOVE, and my head almost exploded when I saw this wallpaper he made, especially and only for me, even though he didn’t know it, and posted it on the Disney Parks Blog.

 A Monster of a B&M Coaster

As I constantly tell anyone who will listen to my blather, I am from Hawaii. Mako is shark, and what a monster this shark is. As beloved as the wizard is down the street, the gnashing of teeth and tearing of rainments when the old, beloved shark there met his doom was heard all the way out here in Hollywoodland. So now, they get a bigger, better shark, a few blocks away. So much bigger. So much better. So Bollinger and Mabillard, my favoritest of favorite coaster manufacturers. (Silver Bullet at Knott’s is a good example). Smooth and long and divine. So mathematical and physicsistic and fun fun fun. I love them so.

Anyway: Mako gets here Summer 2016. These are artists’ renderings, and everything in the SeaWorld is subject to change.
