Happy 4th of July weekend everyone! This week we deliver a small pictorial from Knotts Berry Farm and share what they have planned for Independence Day weekend. The park is bustling with summer crowds. While the lines continue to surge at the park’s new attraction, Voyage to the Iron Reef, there are lots of classics which continue to please the crowds, including the Timber Mountain Log Ride, Calico Mine Train and more. Let’s take a walk through the park that Walter Knott’s built, shall we?
Knotts Berry Farm fireworks and holiday decorations
Guests can celebrate Independence Day at Knott’s Berry Farm this weekend with world class live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. In addition to the full lineup of summer shows, like the all new ice show Blockbuster Beagle, the Mountain Fifes and Drums musical group will hold special patriotic performances at Knott’s Berry Farm in Calico Square at 12:00pm & 2:00pm. With extended hours, 10am – 12am, there is more time to enjoy all the entertainment.
What’s the best place to watch Knott’s Berry Farm fireworks? We recommend the wide path between Calico Square stage and the Charleston Circle Fountain. The fireworks are shot off from the lot behind the Voyage to the Iron Reef, so that’s the direction you’ll want to face.
The rest of the park is awash in patriotic colors as well.
Here we see that the Old Betsy engine in Ghost Town has been replanted and is overflowing with plant life .
Chilling out at Knotts
While parts of the park can get pretty warm during the summer months, there are still plenty of ways to keep cool on the farm. The Mystery Lodge is a great place to take a load off and cool down in the air conditioning.
While this impressive pepper’s ghost show is getting a bit long in the tooth, it’s still an entertaining bit of nostalgia and a great respite from the heat!
Of course, the amazing Timber Mountain Log RIde is the ultimate escape with a mostly indoor ride system and the occasional cool splash of water (not too much, just a bit). This is one of our favorite flume rides ever.
Fiesta Village
Let’s stroll through Fiesta Village. We see bits and pieces of refurbishment here and there. But wouldn’t it be great to see them give some real attention to this area of the park? This little spot in the park is ripe for something new.
Camp Snoopy
Finally we see that Camp Toyota has found its way back into Camp Snoopy for the summer. Pity.
That about wraps everything up from Knotts Berry Farm for this holiday weekend. Andy Castro will have the latest Disney news for you on Monday. Until then, we will see you…In The Parks.
