Disney’s Fab 50 Character Collection are golden statues placed around the parks to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. I recently made it a personal goal to find all 50 of them, and I’m proud to say I’ve unlocked that achievement! Below, I’ll share the list of characters and where they can be found. But more than just finding them all, these statues will soon be able to make some magic of their own with MagicBand+. Let’s take a tour all around Walt Disney World to find these golden statues!

Animal Kingdom Park

Animal Kingdom Park has only three statues that can be found around the tree of life. But some statues contain more than one character.  Bambi and Thumper (Characters 1, 2) and Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa (3, 4, 5) can be found in front of the Tree of Life. , Walt Disney World’s Fab 50 Golden Characters – Can You Find Them All?

Nemo and Dory (6, 7) are a little harder to find, hiding in the bushes close to where the UP Meet and Greet was located., Walt Disney World’s Fab 50 Golden Characters – Can You Find Them All?

Epcot

Epcot has five statues featuring nine characters. All characters are near the Port of Entry to the World Showcase. Figment (8) is looking mischievous on the main walkway on the left as you enter the World Showcase. That’s all 50. And let me tell you, although you read that all in just a few minutes, it was countless hours and multiple park visits for me to find them all. But I’ve got to say, I think by and large these are really brilliantly executed character sculpts.

MagicBand+ Interaction

Lots of pretty pictures… but is that all you can do with these golden statues? The upcoming MagicBand+ rollout (coming sometime this summer) promises a whole new way to interact with the statues.

, Walt Disney World’s Fab 50 Golden Characters – Can You Find Them All?

According to a post shared by the Walt Disney World Ambassadors, the statues will be able to respond to guests who wave at them wearing MagicBand+ accessories. I’m interested to see when this update will take place, especially since the statues have been around for a while now. Take a look at the MagicBand+ interaction in the preview below.

ADMIN NOTE: Dusty here… I actually got to demo both the new MagicBand+ and the Golden Statue interaction recently and I thought it was gimmicky, but also sort of fun. I waved at Mickey and the Magic Band started tapping my wrist and lighting up. Then Mickey started talking to me.  It was a cool effect. Though, I do wonder what that will be like with tens of thousands of guests in the park all waving their arms and trying to listen to character statues above the park noise. We’ll see how it goes very soon.

Here’s my very brief demo. Mickey said the same thing to me both times, though, he does apparently say multiple different things.
