MiceChateers, I’m so beat. My pal Dave is in from Seattle with his family and we’re doing the theme parks like we haven’t been there in nearly 15 years. Which he hasn’t. It’s fun seeing all the newer offerings through fresh eyes. Here’s a little news before I pass out:

Limited Edition, Baby!

Kevin Kidney and Tim O’Day did a signing at The Disney Gallery yesterday morning to a healthy queue, surprising for a Monday morning, but it is summer after all. The book, A Celebration of New Magic and Fond Memories of the Disneyland Resort book, is really nice; it’s the 24.95 version that I reviewed back in late May, but with some really nice extras:

  • “Three downloadable audio tracks from Walt Disney Records: Walt Disney’s Dedication of Disneyland (July 17, 1955), Overture/Main Street U.S.A. and Parade of the Stars (2001)
  • Vintage digital video streamed through Disney Movie Rewards: high-definition restored version of the 1965 Disneyland 10th Anniversary as it appeared on the Walt Disney Treasures DVD collection, Disneyland U.S.A. and Your Host Walt Disney.
  • Special mini-poster”

The image you see above is actually a spread of the box the book fits in for the Limited Edition. I don’t think there will be many left, probably none after the 17th, so if you want one, you should get a move on.

Speaking of Dusty Sage…

The MiceChat Boss Man and our own Hastin Zylstra will be bringing MiceChat’s game show on the road, as it were, to the Disneyana Fan Club’s annual convention, DisneyanaMania,. Saturday afternoon, July 18, from 3:45 to 4:45 PM at the Wyndham Hotel – Anaheim / Garden Grove, located at 12021 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, just down the street from Disneyland. The convention lasts from July 15 to the 19th and features fun and interesting panels with speakers like Joe Lanzisero, Dick Nunis, David Koenig and more, culminating in a show and sale on Sunday that my family tries hard to not miss. We always seem to find some sort of treasure from someone’s collection. This year, The Walt Disney Birthplace will have a table there, and they’ll be selling O-Zell sodas, showing off progress and featuring some wonderful folks, including The Dusty One. Come over and say HI!

On that refreshing note, I hope to see you in the parks this week. I’ll be there!
