Early Sunday morning, Disney Parks and Resorts increased prices and have altered their existing Annual Pass programs for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Let’s dive into the changes for each resort:

Disneyland Resort Passes

Rumors indicated executives would begin dismantling the payment-plan for Annual Passes this February. However, at the last minute, executives got cold feet and decided not to alter the plan, or make any major changes. You can see the bones of what they had intended to do in the prices below. They had wanted to ween pass holders off of payment plans by offering steep renewal discounts for paying upfront and keeping prices relatively flat. However, they did not remove the payment plan option and prices have only gone up $10 or $20. Day tickets also increased $2 for Value days, and $5 for Regular and Peak days.

  • $30.00 for buses
  • $35.00 for the under-performing Preferred Parking (price did not go up) – Would you pay $35 just to save 1 minute or less of walking time to the tram?

Walt Disney World

Also changing today are ticket prices at Walt Disney World in Florida. One day tickets to the Magic Kingdom have increased by $2 to $107, Value tickets have increased $2, Regular increased $5, no change was make to Peak ticket. These price increases were smaller than expected and hint that Disney was about to change other aspects of their ticket program which have not yet been implemented. Disney will eventually need to alter their Annual Pass program/costs as major new improvements coming to the resorts in the next few years (Star Wars, Marvel Lands and many additional projects) will dramatically increase demand for the parks.
