Hello, and welcome to Dateline Disney World! Today, we will have some news on Magic Kingdom construction in New Fantasyland and a look at Epcot‘s Food and Wine Festival preparation. Let’s get started!
Welcome to the Magic Kingdom!!
As you can see above, the Trolley show on Main Street has an autumn overlay, which is nice. It’s also a great place to advertise the Halloween Party!
Wait times from around 11AM. Pretty dead in the park.
When I say dead in the park, I mean there is basically no one around.
Preparation is all done for the Night of Joy Christian Rock concert happening tonight and tomorrow night at the park.
We posted a special article yesterday where I got to see the other side of the construction walls. But for today’s column, we’ll deal with what I saw from the normal parts of the park, starting with the Tangled restroom area.
Things are flying up really quickly.
Over in Fantasyland, they have rerouted the way the walls are configured, and now you walk through the Castle Wall. This means that the Snow White gift shop and the french fry place are closed along with Snow White. The Storybook Treats ice cream parlor may also be closed.
There is now signage up; this will help people who might be confused with getting around.
The Castle Wall is moving right along. There are new details this week, like the shields that depict the stories for which the new attractions were inspired.
Some of the turrets are also completed.
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is getting bigger and bigger.
At Under the Sea, more grass was being put on the building.
Over in Storybook Circus, something new was added this week.
Yes, the large marquee is finally being installed!
Only half was done when I was there, but it changes the whole feel of New Fantasyland now knowing the true starting point of the circus area.
These poles have gone up near the red tent, and will probably be some sort of shading device for a seating area in the middle.
Welcome to Epcot!
Preparation has started for this year’s Food and Wine Festival, which starts September 28th.
China has a large booth this year.
This is where the Biergarten goes outside of Germany.
The Eat to the Beat concert lineup was posted in the park this week.
And of course, Canada being one of the main attractions at F&W, is getting a huge booth.
You may have seen in the Epcot header image that Mission Space looks nice from afar, but get up close, and it shows that it really needs some attention.
There were lots of walls up at Epcot this week, starting at the entrance to the park.
And also at this snack cart.
There is also a project going on at the outskirts of the France pavilion. This was landscape based.
Well, that wraps things up for this week’s Dateline! Are you ready to indulge in lots of deliciousness at this year’s Food and Wine Festival? Let us know in the comments!!
