Disney Cruise Line has lifted the curtain on “Tangled: The Musical,” its latest stage show, onboard the November 11 Disney Magic sailing from Miami, Florida. In fact, a live preview from the performance was aired on the Disney Parks Blog. The new production features original music by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.

The show stages the narrative of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider with popular songs from the film such as “When Will My Life Begin,” “Mother Knows Best,” “I’ve Got a Dream” and “I See the Light.” Since the movie, the creative team has introduced three entirely new numbers to the show.

Additional contributions to the adaptation have been made by director Gordon Greenberg, choreographer Connor Gallagher, puppet designer Michael Curry (Disney’s “The Lion King” on Broadway) and scenic designer Bradley Kaye (Disney’s “Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular”).

“Tangled: The Musical” joins an already stellar onboard lineup that also includes “Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story” and “Disney Dreams… An Enchanted Classic,” which features a new “Frozen” section, all on the Disney Magic. The ship embarks on 4-night cruises to the Bahamas and 5-night sailings to the Western Caribbean from Miami through the new year.
