Howdy MiceChatters, happy Monday! There’s all sorts of interesting things going on at the Disneyland Resort right now. Star Wars construction is moving at a much faster pace than previous construction projects we’ve covered for you in the past. Food and Wine Festival continues to delight. And a string of refurbishments are underway. Let’s take a quick look at the crowd forecast from Mouseaddict and dive into the latest MiceChat Disneyland Update!
Wait Times
Sunday morning wait times weren’t insane, but they were hefty for the off-season. Hyperspace Mountain remains the longest wait in the park.
The walkways were busy, but not crazy.
Star Wars – This Is The Section You’re Looking For
Once you get over the shock of how much of Disneyland is being rebuilt, it’s fascinating to watch the rapid pace of land clearing and ground moving at Star Wars land. All of the Star Wars shots were taken for us by Photomatt. We think you’ll agree that he’s amazing.
First, the long view:
Now, let’s get a little closer. These shots are from Critter Country:
And here’s what we can see from Big Thunder Trail:

Disney California Adventure
Food and Wine
We took some time to enjoy Disney California Adventure’s Food and Wine Festival. Have you be able to visit? What are your thoughts? Do have have any favorite items?
Cove Bar Popularity
They doubled the capacity of the Cove Bar, but the lines to get in are longer than ever.
Frozen/Muppets
The Frozen sing-along closed last week. I think we were all ready to let it go.
More Frozen
But don’t feel too sorry for Anna and Elsa. Their big new show in the Hyperion Theater is just about to debut. The show is expected to open May 27th.
Soarin’
If you love California Soarin’, best get yourself to the park in the next month. One day after Shanghai Disneyland opens, the new “Soarin’ Around the World” film will debut at DCA on June 17th.
Silly Symphony Swings
They sure can take this attraction apart quickly. The ride is being refurbished and will be reassembled in June.
Grizzly River Run
Grizzly is down for its annual refurb and is scheduled to return on May 19th.
Just Because
Because we love you, we like to share lovely images from the park which have nothing to do with construction or refurbishments. These are the “just because” photos. They remind us why Disneyland is special to us.
MiceChat Podcast
Before you go, we’d like to recommend that you listen in on the latest MiceChat Podcast. Dusty and Doug are joined by Arthur Levine on a discussion of Disney news, rumors and juicy gossip. Then they take us with them to the gala opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s an epic podcast that you won’t want to miss.
And that’s it for this week folks. Our deepest thanks to PhotoMatt (Matthew Bumgardner) and CakvalaSC (Anthony Hays) for their AMAZING photos. Andy Castro has just returned from Tokyo and we look forward to seeing his photos and comments about Tokyo Disneyland Resort soon.
