This week in 1994, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened its elevator doors at Disney MGM Studios for the first time. Standing at 199 ft tall, this attraction on Sunset Blvd has spawned similar versions at other Disney Theme Parks including Disney California Adventure. This week’s Miceage Disneyland Rumor Update spills the beans on the removal of the Twilight Zone theme from the Tower in favor of Guardians of the Galaxy. Also featured in today’s Round Up is coverage of Disneyland 61st birthday celebration ceremony and new construction in Star Wars land. Let’s get the RoundUp started! |

But no one expects attendance to be anything other than enormous once Star Wars land opens, which is why we also have more attractions, hotel rooms and parking expansion updates for you.

Disneyland Photo Update: 61 Years of Magic
“To all who come to this happy place: – WELCOME – Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past. . . and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.” Those words were as true when Walt Disney spoke them on July 17th, 1955, as they are today. It was heartwarming to stand in Town Square with thousands of other fans on Sunday and hear Walt’s words echo as though we were right there with him 61 years ago. Happy Birthday to Disneyland, you don’t look a day over 20. Join us on a journey 61 years in the making.
