Photo Update: The Ups and Downs of the Disneyland Resort
It’s August 1st and the dog days of summer are upon us. Disneyland’s attention is turning to the fall season and the huge crowds which descend upon the Resort with one-two punch of Halloween and Christmas. Disneyland’s busiest days are yet to come. The 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration is about to wrap up its year and a half run, but as one door closes, another is ready to open. All that blue and silver bunting will soon be gone, so too will Season of the Force. . . and, sadly, a beloved attraction is about to drop out of existence. But, just around the river bend and behind a pile of dirt is the future . . . which happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Going Dark – All Diamond Celebration Disneyland Nighttime Spectaculars to End September 5th
Hot on the heels of the unpopular news that Tower of Terror is being closed at Disney California Adventure to make way for a new attraction, comes the disclosure that all three “Diamond Celebration” nighttime spectaculars will also glow away on September 5th. With Fantasy in the Sky fireworks only scheduled for the weekends, Disneyland will be dark on Monday through Thursday nights.

While the Rivers of America is being shortened, several areas on Tom Sawyer Island are being refurbish and touched up, including a new paint scheme on the large cabin. We also wonder if the Treehouse and the Fort will open next year, when the River of America re-opens. Dateline Disney World – Epcot News, Photos & Frozen
Starting August 1st, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will offer “ Disney Early Morning Magic.” Similar to the Magic Kingdom event that debuted earlier this year, guests will be given the opportunity to visit select theme park attractions early, enjoy meet and greets with favorite characters as well as enjoy Breakfast in the park. This event is separate from “Extra Magic Hours” which are held on different days. The number of tickets available each morning is limited, so plan to book early.
