Are You a Theme Park Fan/Registered Voter in Buena Park Dist. 3?

Fab kind of endorses a political candidate.

Do you want someone Theme Park-friendly (id est, is LITERALLY the Haunt Guy) as your City Council representative, or some Theme Park-hating NIMBY who wants them to cut Haunt down to 10 nights and stop doing fireworks? If you live in Buena Park District 3, you can actually do something that has lasting repercussions on the future of Knott’s in Buena Park. I hope you will choose to help if you can. Also, Jeff Tucker is a more than decent human being – loving dad, swell guy, smart businessman – just look at how well he does with Haunt. That’s the thing that kept Knott’s in the black during the lean years. I’d count my blessings to have him on my City Council.

When the Haunt announcement presentation starts every year, this year it’s on August 25th, everyone LITERALLY screams for Jeff Tucker. I hope he gets in. If he does, he’ll do a lot of good.

Why is it beige? Shouldn't it be boysenberry? If Jeff gets in, that's the first thing that gets fixed, right Jeff? .... Jeff?
Why is it beige? Shouldn’t it be boysenberry? If Jeff gets in, that’s the first thing that gets fixed, right Jeff? …. Jeff?

It’s Going to be a Good Time to Stay Home

…or to carry around a DVD player in your giant purse instead of a chihuahua/miniature bloodhound mix, because I’m NOT ALLERGIC TO DVD PLAYERS and why are there dogs running all over the supermarket and clothing stores all of a sudden? You’re not doing them a favor with all the loud noises, strong smells and strangers. Let them have the couch, toys, kibble and cool water at home while you go out and NEVER LEAVE THEM IN THE CAR. Wait…where was I? Right! Home! With the dog, on the couch. Or the cat and the kid and the hubby if you’re me, binge-watching all the cool new movies and cartoons coming out on DVD and Bluray in the coming months. Gifting is going to be pretty easy this year. Thanks Disney! Thanks Warner!

LEGO Justice League: Gotham City Breakout

This actually came out last month, and I gave it a short mention beforehand, but we actually got to go to the premiere and watch it with a bunch of the stars in Beverly Hills, and the story kept getting bumped by breaking news, then I just said, to heck with it, I’ll save it for the DVD story. So here it is. It’s full of corny, stupid, hilarious LEGO quality jokes that hit on all levels, so it’s safe for kids to watch but their grownups will be entertained beautifully on their own.

After the screening and panel at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, which featured most of the cast and showrunners (Batman’s voice, Troy Baker, was missing, and so was lovingly lambasted by his co-stars throughout the panel). We’ll have in-detail interviews on the Pink Monorail podcast soon, on the MicePod Podcast Network. Until then, did you hear the brand new MiceChat Podcast that dropped yesterday?

When all that was said and done, they all signed posters for the guests – and that means that they signed one for one of YOU.  Just comment about what you’d do if you had a cool spoon sidekick like Joker does, and like, share, or do one of the other things on the sharing bar at the top of the page or floating on the left, and you’ll be entered to win!

Pete’s Dragon Premiere

Last night was the Pete’s Dragon Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood California. We’ve got some pictures for you, courtesy of Image.net and the Walt Disney Studios, who were able to turn them around to us within a few hours. Thanks so much!

Yes, Those Birthday Buttons Work!

After the MiceChat Meet and a lunch with the worst service ever – new management at Pizza Port is very different from what we’ve been accustomed to in the past from Disney in terms of excellent Guest Service -. Might have trouble with the concept of scatter service, food allergies, and general belligerence in front of Dusty. I didn’t get the pleasure, but personally, I’d say that Sunday, about half of the usually-cheerful cast there looked and acted like they really, really wanted to punch somebody really hard in the face. Even the ones that weren’t anywhere near me, honest!

Afterward, we went to see my Space Boyfriend in Star Wars Launch Bay. The First Order officer noticed my shirt, lanyard, earrings, pins, fondled my necklace, admired my purse and other Rengear, and wished me a happy life day, then popped inside, then back again, leading us into the hallway. Kylo Ren’s theme music was playing, which sounds a little like Night on Bald Mountain, itself based on themes of light and dark, and who can forget Bill Tytla’s unforgettable demon Chernabog, stretching himself into the darkness, hiding from the light?

It was our turn. The Commander stood sideways, silent – he had no voice today. Suddenly, he pivoted, and pointed through the crowd, right at me, and motioned for me to come out and join him. ‘kay.

We posed for some pictures,

I’m going to try this on Noe next weekend. As Hedley Lamarr says in Blazing Saddles, ”

Then the rest of the group joined him.

Then Jimmy decides to refuse to hand over the droid.

We’re all going to miss you, Jimmy. And your gorgeous, gorgeous ears

So, yes! I didn’t get any desserts or balloons or anything, but I got something that made me a million times happier than all of the above. I got to be The Fab Apprentice (The Fat Apprentice?) for two gleeful, exquisite, make-believe moments at Disneyland. So yes, the buttons work. But hey, I still wouldn’t say no to a belated present, which would be:

Support #WearStarWarsEveryDay

I certainly try to, but this is different and pretty cool. James Floyd, who is sweeter than lychee and cotton candy put together but doesn’t make the kids jittery, is doing a really cool GoFundMe. This is the first time I’m writing about this. It won’t be the last, because later I’m going to actually talk to him about it. I just wanted to get the word out because stuff keeps happening and I wanted you folks to know about this.
