Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout Construction |
The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror attraction in DCA is closing in January to become the Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout next summer. While one of the most popular rides in DCA continues to pack in the crowds, changes are already beginning on the exterior.
But first, let’s go back a couple months and look at the announcement for the GOG.
And here’s the official description from the Disney Parks Blog:
“Deep inside his fortress-like collection, the mysterious Taneleer Tivan (aka The Collector) is displaying his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are trapped in customized display cases, suspended over a vast abyss. Unbeknownst to their unscrupulous captor, the intrepid Rocket has escaped and is enlisting the Collector’s VIP guests for help. Guests board a gantry lift, which launches them into a chaotic and hilarious adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to break his fellow Guardians out of captivity.”
Here’s some recent photos of the Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror, just before some high profile changes:
Changes came unexpectedly when the sign was removed without notice over night last week.
And then this week, the balcony that supported the sign was also removed along with the dome on the roof.
We are starting to see scaffolding being assembled on the east side of the building.
