GMA Celebrates Mickey’s Birthday on November 18th!
This Friday*, ABC’s Good Morning America is going to feature a visit from Mickey Mouse, fresh off his whirlwind world birthday tour. Good Morning America airs live Mon.-Fri. (7:00-9:00 a.m. EDT) on ABC. Since it’s also his birthday, they’ll be celebrating with the debut of his new music video, “WHAT WE GOT”.
Mickey surprised fans and friends in Los Angeles, Kyoto, Shanghai, Rome, Paris, Cusco and Rio de Janeiro while making the music video, and will share stories about his adventures with the Good Morning America anchors.
The celebration continues online with the song from Walt Disney Records available from digital streaming and retail services and the video streaming, well, just about everywhere. I’m sure you’ll be able to see it right here at MiceChat.com as well as the Mickey Mouse Facebook page (look for the blue check that says it’s official because there are a ton of fakes there), Oh My Disney, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club and the Disney Parks Blog.
Also on November 18, Disney Channel will air blocks of Mickey Mouse programming throughout the day, including the premieres of two new cartoon series, plus the wonderful “Feliz Cumpleaños” short and Disney Junior will debut the teaser trailer for the upcoming new series Mickey and the Roadster Racers. Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Disneyland will have special parade moments to mark the occasion.
Mickey’s birthday is celebrated in honor of his (and Minnie’s) first theatrical release, Steamboat Willie, on November 18, 1928, at the Colony Theatre in New York City. Since then, he has starred in more than 100 cartoons and can currently be seen on Disney Channel in the Emmy®-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon series, which is also available via its very own app from Google Play and the App Store.
