|Welcome to the MiceChat news Round-up!|
This Friday, Nov 18th in 1928… Steamboat Willie made its debut and Mickey Mouse helped change how we experience movies. Though Walt Disney had great success in the past with silent movies, the addition of sound ensured that both Mickey & Minnie Mouse, his newest creations, would be stars still beloved today.
The Round-Up has all the latest news about Christmas in the Parks and the upcoming Holiday season, including both Mickey and Minnie all dressed up and ready for the Merriest Time of the Year!

MiceChat Podcast: A Sense of Mystery in the Air: It’s time to venture into the dimly lit fog of theme park Halloween once again. The major parks have opened their Haunted attractions, monsters roam the streets, and guests line up in droves (take my money please) to be scared out of their wits. On Today’s show, Doug and Dusty are joined by horror god Rick West to discuss Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Virtual Reality, Tips and Tricks, and all sorts of gossip about the theme parks.
Mousetalgia: Mickey Mouse is turning 88 this week, and Team Mousetalgia invites you to celebrate with us! First, we welcome Mike Van Eaton back to the show to discuss “Souvenirs of Disneyland,” an upcoming exhibition and auction of Disneyland memorabilia and merchandise. From a pen in the shape of a woman’s leg to a scale Imagineering model of New Orleans Square, this major auction is destined to make history. Then, we celebrate Mickey’s birthday by catching up with Disney comic writer Pat McGreal, who talks to Mousetalgia about his quarter century of giving life to Mickey Mouse and his friends. Jeff discusses the persistence of vision via Fields’ famed “Art of Walt Disney” book, and then we continue our birthday celebration with a roundtable discussion of Mickey Mouse shorts, Mickey Mouse collectibles, Mickey Mouse in the parks, Mickey Mouse songs, and more. Plus – Disneyland Paris goes to hyperspace; tutus rule, Guardians take the tower – and more. Special note: Jeff will be appearing Saturday, Nov. 19 at Creature Features in Burbank from 1 to 3 p.m. to sign his book “The Unauthorized Story of Walt Disney’s Haunted Mansion.”
The Sweep Spot: In this episode we welcome blogger, podcaster Jeremy Harris from The Buddy Baker Project podcast. Jeremy has a big passion for the music of Buddy Baker, and Disney parks in general. We talk all about the music Buddy contributed to the Disney Parks, and play clips of some of those compositions. We hope you walk away knowing ,more about this great Disney composer. Plus the latest in the Disneyland Resort Current Events. For show notes and to buy our book Cleaning the Kingdom, a book written by two former Disneyland Custodial Cast Members telling inside stories and more.
