Welcome to the MiceChat news Round-up!

Happy Thanksgiving! It’s time once again to gather with family and friends, sleep through football games, enjoy a four day weekend and try to survive the door-buster deals at the local mall.

While you are enjoying the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, dazzle your family by letting them know that  Disney first took part in the Macy’s parade with a giant Mickey Mouse balloon in 1934. In 1972, to celebrate the first anniversary of Walt Disney World, giant helium-filled balloons of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck floated high above the viewers below. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs took part in the festivities, riding atop a majestic Magic Kingdom castle float. Peter Pan and Wendy matched wits with pirates aboard Captain Hook’s ship float.

The staff and crew of MiceChat would like to say a special thank you for joining us every week. We are grateful for you and wish you the happiest start to this holiday season!

Kevin Yee: Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue
The traditional folk wisdom about brides and weddings (“something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”) applies in a weird way to the two newest offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: PizzeRizzo and “Jingle Bell Jingle BAM!” fireworks and projections. In other words, both offer newness, but also a kind of sameness. It’s progress and evolution, but nothing to write home about.
