Disney Springs is finally settled enough that it’s getting Christmas offerings. I excitedly met up with some friends, as I had heard THINGS about the new drone show and the Christmas Tree Trail! Come along to see what it’s all about!
The drone show is actually called, Starbright Holidays – An Intel Collaboration. It happens nightly at the waterway between Saratoga Springs and Disney Springs, near the balloon. I recommend getting there about 30 min before the show, for a good spot, but you could probably wander over there at show time and see it just fine behind people. What is it?
Well, the show features 300 drones. Each drone weighs less than a volleyball and they are equipped with four LED lights that can create over 4 billion color combinations. They can fly for 20 minutes and are allowed to fly as high as 400 feet. All 300 drones are controlled by one computer. I’m in!
Photos don’t do this show justice. The lights with the music brought me to tears. I can’t way to see where Disney uses this tech next.
This makes Disney Springs look impressive. It’s a very unique show and it really is beautiful.
I will say, as lovely as my photos are, It MUST be seen in person to truly appreciate!
They’ve pulled out all the most expensive Chandeliers for Disney Springs. I love a Christmas Chandelier don’t you? If you’ve ever been to the Americana in LA then you know you can’t do Christmas without a Chandelier!!
The Decor is Bright and Vibrant all around Disney Springs. It’s truly a festive place and there is finally enough room to walk around and exist! I’m sure as we get closer to Christmas it will get busier!
Next, to the Christmas Tree Trail!
Now let’s tour the Christmas Tree Trail, where you’ll find Christmas trees inspired by some of Disney’s most popular movies! Heading to Disney Springs to see it? You’ll want to head to the marketplace, where the buses USED TO drop off – over by Art of Disney and the Christmas store.
To be honest, the Christmas Tree Trail feels a little homemade and maybe they did the best with their budget, but I’ll hope for significant improvements next year. Many of the trees looked like someone had just shook them and everything was not in the right place. Or the elements had gotten to them, but it’s early in the season… I don’t know. Maybe I’m being too harsh. What do you think of how they look? I think Disney is just so known for their incredible Holiday decor and this just wasn’t up to par for me. The trees don’t even have lights!
Well that’s it for Christmas at Disney Springs, go check out the drone show and maybe have a few drinks at the Margarita bar before heading to the Christmas Tree Trail!! Follow me on Twitter and Instagram to keep the pictures and conversation going! Happy Holidays!!
