Friend of MiceChat and Disney Legend Floyd Norman will be doing a “QuickDraw” January 13 at 9:30 AM Pacific Time on the Disney YouTube Channel. During the livestream, Floyd will be working at the fully-restored desk of legendary Mickey Mouse artist Floyd Gottfredson, recreating a classic Mickey Mouse comic to celebrate the anniversary of the very first Mickey Mouse comic strip 87 years ago.
Floyd actually worked on some of those later Mickey Mouse strips, as well as Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in the Stone, Toy Story, and recreating the hilarious TV scenes from 101 Dalmatians for the latest home release.
Floyd will also be answering viewers’ questions and giving an account of what it was like to work with “the old Maestro” himself, Walt Disney and also animation techniques. This is sure to be a treat Disney and animation fans won’t want to miss.

About Floyd Norman
Norman is one of the few artists who has seen the Disney storytelling empire unfold for more than 60 years. He is also one of the premiere African American trailblazers in the animation business.
Norman was hired by Walt Disney as an “apprentice inbetweener” on Sleeping Beauty and later brought on to work on other Disney classics such as One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone and The Jungle Book.
He was the last scripter for the Mickey Mouse comic strip. He was named a Disney Legend in 2007. More recently, he was presented the Inkpot Award at Comic-Con International for his work in comics.
