While The Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout is nearing completion at Disney California Adventure, we are getting word that instead of the customary Annual Passholder previews, the night before the public opening the park is hosting a Premiere Party for a $150 additional charge.

Mission Breakout Premiere Party

Disneyland announced today the details for The Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout Premiere Party on Friday, May 26. The event runs from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM and includes:

  • Party Admission – Access to Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure Park from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM (check-in begins at 6:00 PM).
  • Attraction Access – Attempt to experience all 6 versions of the thrilling Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at your leisure throughout the party.
  • Heroic Encounters – Meet up with Black Widow, Hawkeye, Spider-Man and Captain America.
Music, Dancing and Cosplay Showcase – A live DJ will be spinning tunes at the dance floor.
  • Panel Discussion – Get the scoop from some Imagineers behind Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
  • Super Hero Comic Academy – Learn to draw a classic comic book character.
$15 Food and Beverage Voucher – Taste new Summer of Heroes menu items! Voucher redeemable during the event at select Hollywood Land food and beverage locations. But no booze!
  • Souvenir Photos – Take Disney PhotoPass photos during the event and enjoy unlimited PhotoPass downloads of them later.
  • Snap-Worthy Backdrops – Pose in front of special one-night-only Disney PhotoPass locations.
  • Collectible Souvenirs – As you enter, you’ll get a decoder card for discovering hidden details in The Collector’s fortress! As you leave, receive a limited-edition pin, hat, tote bag, comic book and more (limit one of each available item per Guest).

Tickets for this event are $150 for anyone over the age of 3.

Do you think these experiences make it worth the extra charge?

No AP Preview

The last attraction that had an Annual Passholder Preview at Disneyland was the re-opening of Big Thunder Mountain in 2014. Since then, Disney has transitioned to doing upcharge events instead of the traditional AP Previews. Opening Day is Saturday, May 27, which is Memorial Day Weekend. Most AP’s are blacked out that weekend, which means those AP’s won’t be able to ride until the 29th.

So we’ve slowly lost a Passholder perk to an upcharge event. How do you feel about this?
