First observation, the outside of the attraction has changed little. Only the sign and the outdoor poster mark the difference. On the side of the mountain, the Columbiad Cannon’s noise and smoke effects have been disabled.

In the interior queue line, the (horrible) posters of the planets have been replaced with posters of vessels from the Star Wars universe.

Arriving at the station we find banners bearing the image of the new version of the attraction, “Hyperspace Mountain.”

The new Vekoma trains, the MK-1212, are beyond wonderful. They offer a great experience and give the impression of being in a cinema with a 360° sound system. In summary, the new trains are better than the previous ones both in the level of detailed theming and the quality of the experience.

As soon as the train leaves the station, the mythical theme song of the Star Wars saga begins to play (until the cannon launch). The coordinates of the adventure are provided by Admiral Ackbar .

Summing up the attraction, it’s fun, it’s cool, but is not “Whoa”. For connoisseurs of “Space Mountain: Mission 2,” the switch to Hpersapce Mountain does pose some problems. The issue of recycling is noticed. for example, the projections of the ships are distorted because the the surface of the asteroids have not been smoothed out. All the preexisting projectors were re-used, and only new laser effects have been created.

The effect of Star Wars is well done, but there are no major surprises. The final effect of “light speed” uses only half the Red vortex from “Space Mountain: Mission 2”, which offers a very short effect due to the speed of the train.

Those who loved the original or Mission 2 versions of Space Mountain might be a bit disappointed, but average guests and those who are crazy about Star Wars are really going to enjoy this experience.

It should be noted that in parallel with the opening of Hyperspace Mountain, Star Wars: Path of the Jedi, made its debut. The movie allows visitors to look back at the 7 episodes of the franchise. It’s a film about 15 minutes long allowing guests to relive key moments from the Star Wars saga.
