Disneyland is turning into more of a retail experience than an attraction experience. I don’t think Uncle Walt would approve of this trend. The rails on the Casey Jr. Bridge looks like a walkway now. Takes the mystique away. Disneyland is sadly becoming a sterile land of safety ordinances.

Awesome update, per usual! Love the look back to old columns; really puts some things in perspective.

The new Casey additions could’ve been worse.. I just hope the view from the train itself is still good.

Disneyland truly does shine at Christmas. The lights are beautiful… especially It’s a Small World! Great pics! :) Thanks! God Bless!

What a great update! I would love to win a two night stay, especially since my girlfriend and I have our 6 year anniversary coming up! It would be awesome to finally stay near Disneyland and be able to spend 3 full days there.

OHHHHHHboyoboyoboy do these photos make me wish I was strolling DCA right now! Will have to settle for a cruise on the Fantasy in just 45 days! Happy Holidays to all!

I love the mini decorations in storybook land, that was one of my favorites as a kid.

On a side note, anyone notice anything wrong with these dates –
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: Closed for extensive refurbishment January 7, 2013 through October 30.

Didnt they close Oct 30 and will be down until January 7th? Or did plans change and it will be down for a year??

Great update, as usual. I really miss seeing the park in person, in all its Christmas glory. Hopefully next year, if they don’t decide to carge extra I will be able to see it, for the first time in 5 years. I am really looking forward to seeing BVS.

    great update happy 5th!!!

That BVS tree lighting ceremony is much different (and better) than the one I saw last Wednesday, Nov. 14. That night, a woman’s voice simply came over the PA system and asked everyone to say “Happy Holidays” on the count of 3, at which point the tree lit up. There were no characters or other “live” people involved at all. The whole thing lasted maybe a minute.

Nice update! The holidays are nice, but I can’t wait to go early next year and see Disneyland as Disneyland!
