The latest Season Pass Podcast brings us a Renewal of some previous classic stories in a new, fresh way. What’s interesting about the Renewal episodes, is the opportunity to catch some great ideas and history you might have missed out the first time you listened three, five, eight, or whatever years ago.

These podcasts retell the fascinating stories of the incredible people who craft those theme park experiences we all love. And I’m so glad this episode has brought us the thoughts and ideas of the amazing, Walt Disney Imagineer, Joe Rohde.

Responsible for the incredible creative direction behind the Mexico pavilion at EPCOT, Adventurer’s Club, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Aulani: A Disney Resort and Spa, as well as the newest and biggest Disney Park experiences opening this summer, Pandora: The World of Avatar, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, Joe has an astonishing portfolio with WDI.

The thing that impresses me the most about Joe Rohde, is his passion for our world and the fantastical things he finds inspiring within it. His insight into the human condition and its cultural perspectives, manifest themselves in every single project he is a part of.

That authenticity he brings to the table, makes his work come alive, transports you to a different place and time, and initiates daily practice and lessons you bring back in your own life. He uses Themed Entertainment as his classroom, and the guests are his students.

In this episode, he discusses his beginnings at Walt Disney Imagineering, his earlier and current projects, applying his experiences and perspectives on Hawaiian culture to Aulani, the ideas and future of Animal Kingdom, and so much more.

This is a wonderful and magical montage of brilliant creative discussion!
