MiceChat Disney News Roundup

Kevin Yee – Hail to the Chief?
This week Disney released a message reaffirming that the Hall of Presidents (MK) would reopen *with* a speaking role for President Trump, as has been the attraction’s tradition since 1993. The re-opening is said to take place in late 2017 (so don’t look for it on the Fourth of July). Given the polarizing role this particular president plays, one can easily imagine Disney’s care in re-envisioning the attraction.

Breaking News – Final Auction Coming Soon to Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom
In what is surely a sign of the times, Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Paris will all soon remove the “Auction” scene where pirates can buy a bride. The scene is iconic for its sultry redhead, voluptuous “Show us your larboard side” bride, and the spectacularly mobile and well dressed Auctioneer himself.

All Things Disney!

The latest MiceChat update focuses attention on making over some DCA attractions for Halloween, starting this fall!  We also have video of the Disneyland Railroad testing its new track.  We also want to know what 3 Disney movies from the past 50 years, you would like to show Walt!   ~ Aladdin

Halloween overlays are coming to Radiator Springs Racers and Mission Breakout!
MiceAge heard talk about adding some Halloween makeovers to DCA attractions, for this coming fall! Will Matar be Trick or Treating in Radiator Springs Racers? Will Guardians of the Galaxy become the scariest attraction at the Disneyland Resort? And what about some other attractions that would be available to change out for Halloween, perhaps a World of Color show, or a Haunted Toy Story Midway Mania! Tell us what you think about these possibilities.

What 3 Disney films would you show Walt that were released after he passed away?
moviemike asks of all the Disney movies released since Walt passed away, would you like to show Walt? That’s over 50 years of movies from Disney, to choose from!

A Fantasyland Expansion – what to add?
If Fantasyland was expanded, or if a new 3rd Anaheim Theme Park was created with an all new Fantasyland, which movies should be represented, and what would you put in it? Tell us your ideas!

June 2017 – Photos
Regions Beyond has returned with some terrific photos, many with new things recently added to DCA!

DRR Testing video!!
To say Disneyland fans are anxious to make a grand circle tour of the Magic Kingdom, once again, is an understatement. In the meantime, at least we have video of the trains being tested!

If you had to sacrifice a good attraction?
Grizzlyhead is doing a little armchair Imagineering and needs to get rid of one popular attraction.  Which one would you sacrifice?

Joe Flowers is back with a photographic trip report. ~ Trekkie Dad

2017 Belmont Shore Stroll and Savor – June
Joe Flowers (mre200200) never fails to entertain us with his trip reports. Here is one from a recurring event in Long Beach, California.

“Symbolica” at Efteling in The Netherlands
Take a ride on what 9oldmen describes as a “Baroque Mystic Manor.”

Knott’s to employ two full-time police officers
Not particularly surprising, since Disneyland employs 11 from the Anaheim PD.
