Don’t Miss The ALL NEW MiceChat Podcast
We have a show so big for you this month we had to do two episodes in one. We take a look at the MASSIVE enhancements and expansions at ALL of the Disney parks in the coming decade. Huge new lands for Disneyland, California Adventure and Disney Hollywood Studios. Plus, major new attractions for Epcot & Magic Kingdom. We also pay tribute to a true Disney legend, the beloved Marty Sklar.
Mousetalgia: This week, Team Mousetalgia chats with WED Imagineer Rolly Crump about “It’s Kind of a Cute Story,” his current exhibition at the Oceanside Museum of Art. We talk about his art, his work with fellow artist Mary Blair, and his relationship with Walt Disney. Then, Kristen takes us with her on a trip to an exclusive dinner party at 21 Royal, and describes the atmosphere, the experience, the custom menu designed by Disneyland Executive Chef Andrew Sutton, and more details of this incredible dining opportunity hidden in the heart of New Orleans Square. Also, controversy over breastfeeding at Disneyland rears its head once again, and we discuss the situation. Plus – Jeff reports from the current Once Upon a Time convention tour; new Mary Blair art prints will be on exhibit at Gallery Nucleus; Star Wars VR experience gives Vault 28 and Fossil the boot out of Downtown Disney; Salt Lake Comic Con welcomes Tony Baxter, Dick Van Dyke, and other Disney luminaries this September – and an Ears to the Ground report from the opening weekend of Frozen, the Musical in Denver, CO.
The Sweep Spot: In this episode we are going to take a virtual tour of Disneyland as if it was the year 1997. That year had some memorable moments, and times for both of us. Get ready as we discuss some of the attractions that weren’t there yet, and some that were already gone, plus all the other events that took place at Disneyland in 1997.
The Season Pass: Technology has been rapidly advancing over the last several years. Completely changing how we vacation as well as how we go about our daily lives. Cell phones, RFID, virtual queues, augmented reality, virtual reality, and so many other kinds of tools are redefining how a day is spent. Innovation pushes the themed entertainment industry forward. It provides new avenues for creativity and opens the doorway to possibilities for the audience. People who have that drive to keep pushing technological boundaries in innovative ways provide some of the most interesting Season Pass Podcast interviews. One of the best places to find those talented minds is the TEA Summit!

Six Flags and Great America Announce New Rides in California
During my coverage of Magic Mountain’s opening of Justice League Battle for Metropolis in July, I observed that the park’s few non-coaster thrill rides seemed to date back to at least the Ford administration. That will be changing next year with the addition of CraZanity, a pendulum ride in a newly themed Beach Boardwalk area.
