We have some INCREDIBLE Disney news and info for you today everyone. Some Star Wars construction, SOLO toys, WDW job opportunities, Incredicoaster trains revealed, lots of Tokyo Disneyland goodness and all sorts of other stuff.
Dusty Spotted Something at the edge of the galaxy!
Dusty Sage took a ride on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Sunday and spotted these new towers in the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge construction site. He has some video for you as well.
You can see right into Star Wars land from Big Thunder Railroad . . . but it zooms by pretty fast, so Dusty took some very high resolution video and slowed it down for you.
A Pineapple Piece of Pixar Fest
Dusty also found, and sent me a photo of, the replacement for the Dole Whip Doughnut (yes we know it’s really just called a pineapple doughnut, but who actually calls it that?). This Wilderness Scout Badge doughnut looks good. You can find it at the coffee cart in Disneyland’s Hub (near the entrance to Frontierland).
The Incredicoaster Cars Get a Red Hot Color Change!
I think it looks pretty slick and fits in well with the theming of the new/old coaster. Wish they’d switched to newer cars that were a little roomier, but I’m bigger than the average person. (Shelly says switch out the Matterhorn ones first!) I was not a big fan of the Screamin’ car paint design. This is more in keeping with the Incredibles movies.
Work at The World
Walt Disney World is having a series of Job Fairs – our daughter’s best pal just got hired on as Castle staff – she’s an AMAZING up-and-coming chef. I’m so excited for her!

Peter Pan Signature Collection Flying Your Way
This Signature Collection edition offers two hours plus of amazing bonus features and exclusive extras, including the latest chapter of “Stories from Walt’s Office,” which takes a look at Walt’s love of flying and his company planes; a sweet reunion between Kathryn Beaumont (voice of Wendy) and Paul Collins (voice of John); and new “Okie” renditions of the classic song “You Can Fly” and song that we ended up only hearing the melody, not the lyrics to in the movie: “Never Smile at a Crocodile” with on-screen lyrics so that you can sing along.
SOLO:A Star Wars Toy Story
This is a little late, but I had these and wanted to share them, because someone in my house really, really loves Star Wars toys. Especially Kylo Ren ones. Here’s a look at some of the wonderful new toys being released along with SOLO:A Star Wars Story. Warning, LOTS of photos below.
Look for these everywhere except Toys R Us. Hey, they knew everything was going online and just sat there. I’ll miss them, though.
Tokyo Lowers AP Rates, But Does Some Cracking Down
Until the planned additions to the Tokyo parks are complete, crowds are extremely heavy at the Tokyo Disney parks. Unfortunately, Annual Passholders are going to have to pay the price, by not paying as much in terms of Yen, but by losing days on their passes to Blockout Dates:
In addition, all Passports purchased after February 28, 2018 will be subject to blockout dates when admission to the parks are restricted. In addition, Annual Passport vouchers bought before February 28 will still be valid for six months from the date of purchase, but those bought March 1 2018 and afterward MUST redeem them within two months of the date of purchase.
These are some pretty stiff changes. What are your thoughts about them?
Use E-Ticket, Win a Preview Pair
Tokyo Disney Resort is holding a contest for anyone who buys a one-day ticket using the E-Ticket system online via the Japanese language section of their website. 100 lucky winners will receive preview tickets for 2 to see the Tokyo Disneyland 35th Anniversary Celebration kickoff on July 9.
I don’t think they’re taking entries from outside Japan. They just really, really want to get people to start using the E-Ticket.
Great Merchandise and Food
I know, I know, Tokyo usually has the best food and merchandise – but I’ll put up a lot of the items in Pixar Fest for comparison. We’re getting there, especially with the food.
Rocket’s Raccoon Saloon 35th Anniversary Critter Sundae (with churro)
Monthly Tea for April (products available in various stores): Snow White
Ambassador Hotel 35th Anniversary Celebration Package
Kids will receive an activity book with a treasure hunt. If they can find all of the images in the picture below in the hotel lobby, they receive a special medal (if I’m reading this correctly).
A sample page of the activity book:
It reminds me of a revamped version of Disneyland’s Party Gras.
Each hotel, and certain floors on the Disneyland Hotel, will be done up differently to celebrate this very special anniversary.
In addition to special books and such, hotel guests get specially-designed park tickets.
Even the “Good Neighbor” hotels get a little something:
But, of course, the cutest amenities are for the three official hotels:
I’m going to dive deeper into all of the special menus and such for the celebration later. It’s pretty mind-boggling.
Want to Go to E3?
Though the days of the incredible Disney booths are gone, but those rumors that XBOX is skipping are completely FALSE; there’s still plenty to see and do at E3, and now they’ve opened the Expo to gamers – if you’ve got the scratch. (Please don’t cosplay; this is an industry event. Thank you.)
Gamers can attend all three days of E3 for $249 (US), which includes access to the action-packed panels at E3 Coliseum. Passes are on sale now, and quantities are limited! Get your pass today, before they are sold out.
