Raglan Road and merchandise locations will remain open but, BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, 8Trax, Motion, Comedy Warehouse, and the Adventurer’s Club will close. Pleasure Island was an early success but has been struggling to maintain its popularity in recent years.
The bulk of the complaints from the internet community will likely revolve around the unique Adventurers Club, which gained a cult following due to its interactive theatricality, detailed interior design, and upbeat comedy.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about the closure of your favorite clubs. We will also forward your comments regarding the Adventurers Club to concerned parties at the Disney company and in the media. Please share your memories of the Adventurers Club and why you’d like to see it remain open at the comments link below.

I am rather disappointed to see Disney deciding to close down the last remaining remnants of the 18 and over nightlife concept of pleasure island. Even more absurd, to me, is that they are closing the Adventurer’s club when pretty much every one I know enjoys it.

As a member of the original handful of “pinheads” who dreamt up Pleasure Island, I am sorry to see it go..ESPECIALLY Adventurers Club
I told Michael Eisner (while we were standing in the hollow, concrete shell that became AC, it will be a huge his and “you should build one in every major U.S. city.
I think NOW they should take all the props, artifacts, furniture and relocate AC as a restaurant/lounge inside (or adjacent to) Animal Kingdom Lodge!

There aren’t many attractions that I’d be willing to start a campaign to save if Disney decided to close them. I’m not one to stand in the way of change, unless the change doesn’t make sense. And I do believe that the decision to close Adventurers Club is a short-sighted one at best. If Disney’s goal is to create a more family friendly Pleasure Island, or simply to connect the two sides of Downtown Disney, then Adventurers Club is the perfect fit. It was always the one club that people of any age could enjoy. Though a little racy at times, the club is the exact combination of theme, theater, and entertainment that sets Disney apart from all imitators. It would be a real blow to the spirit and uniqueness of Downtown Disney for this attraction/club to be allowed to slip away forever. Perhaps creative minds can come up with a way to allow for both the redevelopment of Pleasure Island and the survival of the one of a kind Adventurers Club. Kungaloosh.

Personally, as an older adult, I could care less about dance clubs or comedy clubs. Once AC closes, there is no longer a reason for me to visit downtown Disney. It was not uncommon to walk around the stores in the afternoon, have an early dinner at Bongos or Raglan Road and then head over to AC for an evening of entertainment. I always made sure my out-of-town friends who were visiting had the chance to experience this one of a kind attraction. It’s too bad WDW doesn’t leave it open and just keep a cover charge for admission. There are plenty of other great shopping and dining options in central Florida both on WDW property and off property.

WOW - what terrible news. I LOVE PI and have so many amazing memories going to all of the clubs. I feel like I grew up at PI! The AC is the best part of all of PI and it is really terribel that it is closing. Is there nothing that we can do?????
