This has been an interesting week for Disney news. Al Lutz posted information about the bloodshed in the executive ranks of Disneyland and Disney World. Dates and events for the popular Food and Wine Festival in California Adventure have been announced and the natives are getting restless about the huge price increases. And a security concern closed Disneyland's front gates for a while on Sunday morning, in this age of internet posting from cell phones, the news was on MiceChat immediately.

More construction walls go up in both Disneyland and California Adventure as construction continues on multiple projects from new stores in Disneyland to entirely rethemed lands at Disney's California Adventure.
Outside of the park, Downtown Disney enters a dark phase with many retailers closing up shop for good. Bad economic times have begun to take their toll on the resort.

What does "DCA" stand for? Judging from the pictures in this weeks Dateline Disneyland blog, it means Disney's Construction Adventure. It is hard to imagine how a maze of construction walls will translate into amazing new attractions, shows, and adventures in the not too distant future.
The Haunted Mansion has reopened at Disneyland, Main Street is in the middle of a major repaving project, a would be Titanic passenger celebrates her 100th birthday at Disneyland, and much more in today's Disneyland update.

Happy 200th birthday to good old honest Abe. You'd think that Disneyland could have dusted you off in time for your big day. But the Weekend Update didn't forget you. Meanwhile, over in Tokyo, they won't let us forget the 25 anniversary "Dream" that just goes on and on and on.
And for good measure, we also visit New Zealand, Germany, and view some vintage postcards of Disneyland.

Disney's California Adventure turned 8 years old on February 8th. But in this year of "Celebrations" at the Disneyland Resort, there was no major celebration or acknowledgement of DCA's 8th year. But there is a bit of news worth celebrating today. The beloved Haunted Mansion has reopened at the Disneyland Resort after an extended refurbishment following it's holiday makeover.
