As a historian, it is always nice to review original documents. I recently examined all of Al Lutz’s old columns for a book project. One thing that stood out were all of the breakfast suggestions he makes before diving into the subject matter of the day. During the recent spectacular MiceAge 10th Anniversary Celebrity Breakfast Celebration at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney Anaheim, I had the pleasure of helping Dustysage present Al with a lifetime achievement award (a beautiful window on Main Street inspired work of art). During this segment, we scrolled Al’s 99 breakfast suggestions on a big screen. However, there just wasn’t time for us to read each one and they were scrolling too fast for most folks to read. Many attendees reached out to me after the event asking for the list.

By popular demand, here are the 99 breakfast suggestions that Al has crafted as you settle in to read one of his updates (his 100th ran this week in his latest update).

Hard for me to believe but my upcoming book, THE DISNEYLAND THAT WAS, IS, AND NEVER WILL BE, is already available for pre-order.

THE DISNEYLAND THAT WAS, IS, AND NEVER WILL BE
A Biography of an American Institution
Walt Disney said, “Disneyland is the star. Everything else is in the supporting role.”
The Disneyland that Was, Is, and Never Will Be is the story of how Walt Disney’s greatest creation was conceived, nurtured, and how it grew into a source of joy and inspiration for generations of visitors. Despite his successors battles with the whims of history and their own doubts and egos, Walt’s vision maintained momentum, thrived, and taught future generations how to do it Walt Disney’s way.

    Great Article Sam

It is amazing how long Micechat has evolved and grew. I remember when I first discovered this site, there were only 3 weekly columns. Now they are so many (does anybody want to count) It is also amazing that there have been so many Disney historians, or people linked to the theme parks that have been part of this site, including Werner Weiss and Bob Gurr respectely. Also, I love there are so many authors that work on this site, including you, Jeff Heimbuch, George Taylor and Kevin Yee. The most remarkable, is that all of the Micechatters and columnists come from so many different backgrounds.

Thanks Again Sam, and here to the next 99 breakfast options by Al Lutz *raises Wine Glass*

#28! Snickers and witch brew! LOL. I like this column. I almost went for the egg sandwich start, but you can’t beat snickers. But, then again, it’s hard to eat Danish and coffee.

Thank you Sam. This is a fitting tribute to Al and his now 100 breakfast items. Funny how that coincides with his 10th anniversary on MiceAge.

When Al set up shop with Kevin and Sue 10 years ago, their goal was simply to have a place to write about the parks without pressure to tow the Disney line.

It’s certainly been a big transition over the past several years, with the merger of MiceAge and Micechat and the addition of our dozens of wonderful authors (like Sam), but one thing has remained constant. . . Al continues to write on his own schedule, delivering the inside Disney news and views you just can’t get anywhere else.

So pop those Eggo’s into the toaster, grab that glass of Sunny D, and join me in wishing Al a hearty congratulations on 10 remarkable years of MiceAge!

    Now I’m hungry. :)

I absolutely love this. Thanks for putting it all together Sam.

One of my biggest regrets in not making it to the Anniversary Weekend was missing the breakfast and especially seeing my friend Al get his well deserved Main Street Window.

Can’t wait to see it in person.

  • mamabot

One of the fun parts of Al’s breakfast suggestions is that they sometimes fit the topic of his column for that day.

Thank you for taking the time to compile the list Sam!

    • Timekeeper

Ditto, I like how each breakfast suggestion fits with each respective article too. Congrats for being here for 10 years.

After all that I need to go on a diet.

  • OrangeFlash

What astounded me was how often he GUESSED RIGHT about what I was eating — and drinking!
