St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in grand style at Disneyland Paris with characters in green costumes, a special parade pre-show and a unique fireworks show. The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction also re-opened this past weekend. Although Johnny Depp still isn’t among the band of pirates in Paris, the retooled lighting effects and the return of the Paris-unique “dueling pirates” was also cause for celebration. Thanks to Alain Littaye of the Disneyland and more blog for this update. ~~Rick
Recently, Disneyland Paris celebrated the Welch St. David’s Day and this past weekend it was St. Patrick’s turn! D&M contributor and Dlrp Welcome webmaster Max Fan was there and came back with videos of the event.
As usual, everything has to be green for St Paddie’s day and Mickey and Minnie were happy to oblige!
Both of them will be seen later riding a Main Street car during the Irish pre-parade. Tinkerbell also gets into the act with her green outfit…
Here is the Irish pre-parade video.
Guests could also watch the Sarah Clark Academy of Irish Dancing with Chip and Dale.
But it’s the special evening fireworks that everyone was waiting for! Here is the full video of the 2013 St. Patrick’s day fireworks at DLP!
Last weekend also featured the re-opening of Pirates of Caribbean after two long months of rehab. The lighting has been enhanced and some show elements are now back in place. Among them are the famous duelists. Found only in the DLP version of POTC, they have now returned. Although Jack Sparrow is nowhere to be seen, the ride had a pretty good rehab and the lighting is impressive!
Mouetto, from the DCP forum, has uploaded a video so you can see these two duelists in action.
Many thanks to Max Fan! See you soon with a big update about the Villages Nature project.
