A brand new book from a Disney Legend, as told to MiceChat’s own Jeff Heimbuch!

The Imagineers, those men and women who helped Walt Disney bring his creations to life, have achieved legendary status among theme park enthusiasts. It’s Kind Of A Cute Story is the life story of one of the most beloved Imagineers, Rolly Crump. Covering his long and varied career, including designing some of Disney’s most famous attractions and working directly with Walt himself, Rolly’s stories weave into a lighthearted yet riveting narrative of his life and accomplishments. Packed with over 200 photos, many of which have never been seen before, It’s Kind Of A Cute Story is a tribute to the life and work of a true original.

  1. Great show guys! Have a safe drive Jeff.

Loved all the stuff about Monsanto. As evil as their reputation is today, they were sort of futuristic back in the 60s.

I’ve never seen the Mighty Microscope in Star Tours 2. I’ll have to look for it. Thanks for the tip!

  2. Whenever I hear Monsanto I always think of Adventures Thru Inner Space at Disneyland and it puts a smile on my face… so it was money well spent by Monsanto. The Hall of sciences seems to be an early version of Communicore and Innoventions product placement showrooms. The hand on the ceiling reminds me of some of the art design in the Logan’s Run Movie.

    • Yeah, that hand on the ceiling was creepy!

  3. The “Mighty Microscope” is NOT the gun floating in space outside the Death Star as you guys indicated but is inside the Death Star just before you leave it (as showed in the 2nd to last picture in the background with the gun in the foreground)…

  4. I am 99.9% sure that the vintage PeopleMover medley you hear (Go Go Goodyear and other instrumentals) used for underscore to the roller coaster game commentary is my mix!!!! I know this because it is the exact order of the songs as I edited them together. I am honored to have provided music for one of my favorite shows!!! The rest of my music is posted on my site –
