Welcome to Epcot!
Walls are still up at the central turnstile area.
Outside the Art of Disney store, the EPCOT30 display is still there, which is nice.
Inside the store, you can see that the awesome Tiki Room merchandise that was out at Disneyland has made its way to WDW. Really great stuff.
It’s all a bit pricey, but definitely cooler than most offerings at the resort.
Walls are still up in Innoventions Plaza for Starbucks and near Electric Umbrella.
What I’d give to get rid of this ugly stage.
Refurbishment continues at the World Showcase Plaza gift shops.
I was in the park later in the afternoon this week, and there was one of these carts in almost every World Showcase pavilion. Unfortunately, they are very much in the way.
The walls are down here at Maelstrom, which just celebrated 25 years of being open and the rocks are looking nice.
I’m glad they have this area open even when Food and Wine and Flower and Garden are not running, it’s very nice.
Sounds Like Summer is going on, this week had a tribute to Lynard Skynard.
New bathrooms are moving right along at the American Adventure.
Construction also continues at the new restaurant in Morocco, with a building poking out over the walls right up against the walls.
Apparently, the royal baby is coming soon.
New Mary Poppins topiary!
I actually find this DVC kiosk to not stick out. It fits right in near the Canada pavilion.
Lastly, Disney has ripped out the escalator in the Land to get down to the Living with the Land and Soarin’ entrances. It’s quite ugly, but I don’t think there is a pretty way to get around it.
Well, that does it for this week’s column. How do you feel about the projects happening in the park? Thoughts on World Showcase not having a major expansion in the last 25 years? Let us know in the comments!!
