The D23 Expo is upon us. Whether you are making the trip to Anaheim for the big event or just following along from home, We want you to know what we’ve got planned. MiceChat will have a booth in the Collector’s Forum area of the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention center on August 9, 10 and 11 (Booth 513). Meet special guests, Disney legends and MiceChat authors whom we have scheduled throughout the three day show. We will also be giving away lots of great prizes, including Disney merchandise, hotel stays and an iPad Mini (stop by the booth for details)! PLUS: Join us for cocktails (at happy hour prices) at the Anabella Hotel (just next to the Convention Center to the West) from 9pm until 1am on Saturday the 10th after the show. There will be some very special guests!!!!!

Bob Gurr was Imagineer for Disneyland’s early days and designed most of the early Disney attraction ride vehicles – including Autopia, the Disneyland Monorail, the Submarine Voyage, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and much more. He later gave himself the title of Director of Special Vehicle Development. He was named a Disney Legend in 2004. Meet Bob Sunday August 11th from 2pm until 4pm.
Rolly Crump is an Imagineer most famous for his work on The Enchanted Tiki Room, Haunted Mansion, it’s a small world, and much more. He continued working on and off for Disney for years, including contributing ideas to projects for Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom & EPCOT Center. In addition to Disney, Rolly has also designed projects for Busch Gardens, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Jacques Cousteau, Knott’s Berry Farm and other projects around the world. Rolly was named a Disney Legend in 2004.  Meet Rolly Saturday August 10th from 1pm until 3pm.
Susan Egan is a world renowned actress and singer. She had the honor of having played two Disney princesses: Megara in the film Hercules, and Belle in the original Broadway cast of Beauty and the Beast, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. She has released six albums, her latest being The Secret of Happiness, released in 2011. Meet Susan – Friday August 9th from 2pm until 4pm.
Charles Fleischer actor, stand-up comedian and voice artist most known to Disney fans as the voice of Roger Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Other voice roles for Fleischer include The Polar Express and We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story.. Fans can have Charles autograph for $25. He will have pictures with him or you can bring something for him to sign. If you pay for an autograph, you can have a picture with Charles for free.  Meet Charles – Saturday August 10th from 3pm until 4:30pm.
Mark Silverman is a voice actor whom, if you are a Disney parks fan, you have definitely heard before. Aside from being the voice of Rod Serling in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney Parks, he has also done voice over work for many Disney films. Mark is a fan favorite.Meet Mark – Friday August 9th from Noon until 2pm, Saturday August 10th from 4:30pm until 6:30pm, and Sunday the 11th from 9am until 11am.
Nik Ranieri is a former character animation for Walt Disney Animation. He started working on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and eventually moved on to work on The Little Mermaid and The Rescuers Down Under. Though his roots are in traditional animation, he also made the jump to CGI and worked on Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons. Meet Nik Saturday August 10th from 11am until 1pm.
Mike Peraza is a Disney art director and concept artist who has worked for Walt Disney Feature Animation (The Fox and the Hound, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Great Mouse Detective, The Black Cauldron, TRON, Something Wicked this way Comes, Return to OZ, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast) Walt Disney Television Animation (DuckTales, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Goof Troop and Darkwing Duck) , Disney Comics, Disney Interactive, WED and Disney Fine Art Galleries. The Disneyland Resort has just released 3 of Mike’s originals paintings: “Seasons of Magic” and “All Aboard!” at the Disneyana Gallery and “Journey of the Little Mermaid” at Off the Page. Mike will be bringing an exclusive original piece that has never been sold before which is signed by himself and a famous actress. You’ll want to arrive early as this one won’t last!  Meet Mike on Friday August 9th from 10am until Noon.
Sam Gennawey, Author of Walt and the Promise of Progress City,  is an urban planner who has collaborated with communities throughout California over the course of more than 100 projects to create a great, big, beautiful tomorrow. Sam is a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Regional Planning History Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving municipal, county, and private sector planning documents from throughout Los Angeles County. Sam is the author of Walt and the Promise of Progress City which you can find on Amazon. Meet Sam – Friday August 9th from 6pm until 7pm, Saturday August 10th from 9am until 11am, and Sunday the 11th from noon until 2pm.
Margaret Kerry is an American actress, motivational speaker and radio host best known for her 1953 work as the model for Tinker Bell in the Walt Disney Pictures animated feature, Peter Pan. Meet Margaret Friday August 9th from 4pm until 6pm and Sunday August 11th from 4pm until 6pm.
Carolyn Carroll is the wife of Eddie Carroll, who voiced Jiminy Cricket from 1973 until 2010.  While Eddie has sadly passed away, the adorable Carolyn carries on his legacy. Meet Carolyn – Friday August 9th from 4pm until 6pm, Saturday August 10th from 4:30pm until 6:30pm, and Sunday the 11th from 11am until noon.
Jeff Heimbuch is co-author of the Rolly Crump biography, It’s Kind of a Cute Story. Jeff is a Disney historian and frequent writer on Jeff Saturday August 10th from 1pm until 3pm.
Don Ballard is an author and Disney historian famous for his love of the Disneyland Hotel and its history. He has written two books on the subject of the Disneyland Hotel and has new archival information to share .Meet Don on Friday August 9th from 10:30am until Noon.

MiceChat is supporting All the Arts for All the Kids Foundation at the D23 Expo. All the Arts for All the Kids is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to developing, sustaining, and supporting the arts as an intrinsic part of every child’s education.

To raise money for this wonderful organization, local artists have decorated oversized hearts for auction. A Small World themed heart will be on display in the MiceChat booth.

About the Artist:Beth Silverman is a mosaic and make-up artist from Anaheim, CA.  After taking a class with her mother, she absolutely fell in love with the process and beauty of mosaic art.  She is honored to have been asked to create a second heart for the All the Arts for All the Kids Foundation. Combining glass cutting with her adoration for Disney art, Beth was inspired by Mary Blair’s colorful and geometric landscape that is, It’s a Small World. She is the proud mom of a brand new baby girl.



britini-brault-mary-poppins Britni Brault is the winner of this year’s D23 Expo Fan Art Contest. Her three-dimensional paper art creation inspired by Mary Poppins took top prize. While you’ll find that piece on display in the Treasures of the Disney Archives exhibit, the artist has created different piece that you’ll find at the MiceChat booth as well!

Britni will be at the MiceChat booth on Saturday August 10th between 4:30pm and 6:30pm to show off her equally amazing Alice in Wonderland piece “Who’s Been Painting My Roses Red”.
