MiceAge Disneyland Update: Parties,
Parking, and Planned Projects

The post-summer off season of low crowds at Disneyland Resort lasted only two weeks, and after the crazy Friday the 13th Villains event Disneyland has crashed into its wildly popular HalloweenTime season before it shifts almost immediately into Christmas mode in early November. While Team Disney Anaheim keeps their cards close to their vest on Burbank’s orders regarding big new rides about to begin construction in DCA and Tomorrowland, there are still some big changes coming to the parks in the next month. In this update we’ll fill you in on what’s ahead this fall, why there are only three more weeks to use a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) in the American parks, and why TDA is suddenly fine tuning their Resort parking strategy.

Declining by Degrees: Magic Kingdom
Not So Magical Halloween Party

The 2013 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom is unfortunately the weakest yet. The party is slowly being watered down, with cutbacks over the years from the slight to the not-so-slight. It’s a process I’ve long called Declining by Degrees.

It promises to be another fun day in the park with friends old and new.

What time period are those discounted rates available? I called Carousel this morning to check on the price for December 16th and 17th, and the best rate they offered me was $129?

  • IndianaJenn

Hi bamato, The rates are depend on how busy the hotel is. Mid to late December is typically a really high occupancy period for all of Anaheim so the rates will be higher. I hope that helps!

    • bamato

Thanks! I figured this much, just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I was missing.

    • bamato

      Thanks so much!

  • Algernon

In regard to Sarah’s video about tearing out the Court of Angels to expand Club 33: I say get rid of the elitist Club 33, dump the Dreamsuite and the VIP railcar. Disneyland is supposed to be “your” land, not some playground for the rich, privileged and well connected to sip martinis in. And they can dump Fast Pass while they’re at it. Everybody waits in line, just like everybody else.

    • http://www.anthonyhays.com Anthony Hays

I can see your point that when Walt said “Disneyland is Your Land” but if you remember, Walt had VIP areas in the park since its creation for Corporate sponsors, celebrities, dignitaries and more.

I went to the new Starbucks today. The charm of the old coffee shop is long gone. It’s designed to serve a lot of coffee and pastry. The sundry items are adios. It will probably make a lot more money.

Thats the goal of everything now adays, all about making that buck!
