Are you ready for the nerdiest trip ever?  Join me and Jeff Heimbuch, my co-host on Communicore Weekly (the Greatest Online Show™), as we take part in the Backstage Magic Adventures By Disney in Southern California. What makes this tour so special? In addition to touring Imagineering, the Jim Henson Studios, the Walt Disney Archives (swoon) and VIP tours of Disneyland Resort, you’ll get to do all of that with Jeff and me!

We’ve also got a few Communicore Weekly exclusives that you won’t get anywhere else. This is not your basic Adventures By Disney tour. Communicore Cadet Cory Gross took the tour with his fiancee last year. He provided the photos from his tour so that we could get a good idea of what to expect.

Private Tour of Hollywood

We’ll spend time on a private excursion of Hollywood that includes the Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame and lunch at the Tam ‘O Shanter (where we’ll get to see Walt’s favorite booth). There’s also time set aside for exploring Hollywood on your own.

We’ll get to see some of our favorite stars’ handprints in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre. I wonder if they’ll be ready for me and Jeff to leave our mark?

There will also be some time to visit other Hollywood museums and destinations, like the Hollywood Museum off of Hollywood Boulevard. (That’s Cory’s fiancee, Ashley, in the Max Factor chair.)

We’ll eat lunch at the Tam ‘O Shanter, one of Walt’s favorite restaurants. We’ll also see the table that Walt and many Imagineers used on a regular basis.

Imagineering and the Walt Disney Studios

The third day of the tour is spent at Walt Disney Imagineering, the Disney Archives and the Walt Disney Studios.

There will be time to shop at the Studio Store and enjoy lunch at the Studio Commissary.Don’t forget that you’ll be hanging out with me and Jeff all day, too! It’s hard for me to pick out which day I’m most excited about, but the Studio and Archives tour might be it.

Disneyland Resort

The tail end of the trip is spent at the Disneyland Resort with some amazing behind-the-scenes and VIP experiences. Cory relates that one of the best experiences was riding on the Lilly Belle and enjoying the splendor of the Victorian-themed private car designed by the Imagineers and Lillian Disney.

There will be a visit to Walt’s apartment and the Disneyland Dream Suite. Two areas I can wait to visit. For most days of the CommuniTOUR, many of the meals are provided and are part of the package. In addition to the historic Tam ‘O Shanter, there will also be some exclusive meals at the Big Thunder Ranch and the Storyteller’s Cafe.

There’s also a visit to the Circle-D Ranch. Cory snapped a photo of this goat for us from the ranch. Next time we’ll have to count the legs.

There are several mornings and evenings where we’ll be able to roam Disneyland on our own. You’re welcome to rides some attractions on your own or hang out with Jeff and me! We plan on riding most of the classic attractions at Disneyland and getting really nerdy. We’ll also pose for great photo opps like Cory and Ashley.

CommuniTOUR Extras!

This tour, sponsored by Fairy Godmother Travel, goes above and beyond the basic Adventures By Disney Tour. Jeff and I already have some major surprises planned, including special swag, a dinner with Disney Legends and maybe a live episode of Communicore Weekly. That’s right, an exclusive Communicore Weekly for CommuniTOUR attendees only!

This looks Uh-Mazing! I’m upset that I won’t be able to attend! It looks to be one of the best Adventures by Disney Experiences. I mean, Communicore Weekly + Muppet Studios + Disneyland? C’mon! Everyone needs to sign up for this tour.

Fantastic opportunity to see the epicenter of Disney and meet Jeff and George! The duo are often referred to as honorary Muppets.
