DL needs a President who appreciates the history and traditions of the park……not a generic, “one park” suit. Matt did a great job and I think Disney blew it by letting him leave. I also remember Walter Knotts park and I think Matts influence is filtering down to the good job that’s being done there.

Oh how I miss Matt Ouimet, the former Disneyland President who rescued Disneyland from Paul Pressler and fixed the park just in time for the 50th. He really pulled off a miracle. Not only did the 50th drive massive attendance, it has continued to this day!

The investment in park infrastructure, paint, and making things look nostalgic and good have fueled recod profits.

It’s a lesson that some of Disney’s other resorts seem to ignore (Yes WDW and Disneyland Paris, I’m talking to you).

Oh, and what happened to Matt Ouimet? He just took over the entire Cedar Fair company and is working on the Disneyland 50th style rebirth of Knott’s Berry Farm. That guy is my hero!
