SNOOPY’S STARLIGHT SPECTACULAR

The infectiously fun and kinetic Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular returns this Summer and is running every night through September. If you haven’t seen it, pick a nice summer evening and take the family to the park for a stroll. It’s infectious upbeat fun.

NEW LIVE ENTERTAINMENT THROUGHOUT THE PARK
Knott’s has installed small stages throughout the park, one near Ghost Rider, one near Charleston Circle, and another in Fiesta Village, to feature live musical entertainment. This stage has been installed near the Ghostrider queue, facing the bakery and lockers.  Here is a listing of the many live entertainment offerings happening in the park this weekend.

GHOSTRIDER GOING DOWN FOR REFURB:
Ghostrider, will be going down for refurbishment Monday Morning, June 25th.  It will return on July 13th.  Get there now if you want to take a ride that will make your chiropractor smile.

GAMES REFURB DONE
We also noticed that the lockers near Ghostrider have just come out of refurbishment along with one of the games.  It all looks nice and snazzy.

STORE CLOSED
Sadly, though,  the Toy Store in Ghost Town has been shuttered.  It has been this way for a good month now.  Let’s hope that a new store opens soon.

XCELERATOR
Xcelerator is planned to be opened, today, June 22nd after a month long refurbishment.

STREETMOSPHERE, the Juggling Unicyclist
While strolling through the park one day, we noticed some streetmosphere near Charleston Circle.

This brightly dressed, engaging juggler was entertaining guests.  She was very funny, and a lot of fun.  It’s nice to see Knott’s continuing to make the effort to bring the level of entertainment value up even more.  It’s a little generic and could be worked into the area a little more elegantly.  But the fact is that the effort is genuine fun.

THE CROWDS
With the price increase and massive crowds over at Disneyland, affordably priced Knott’s is seeing a bump in traffic as well.  Knott’s has been preparing for these crowds all year with projects to clean the place up and really offer value for the money they charge.

The Stage Coach is commanding a half hour wait.

See?  It doesn’t have to be a coaster to be popular.  It can be about the experience too.

  1. Thanks

  2. Info was also posted on their facebook page that the Log Ride and Mine Train will be present as a part of Haunt… But then again, rumors have been floating as to whether they will be decorated, have live actors, or what is going to happen with them. No one knows but Knotts at this point.

Also they announced Ed Alonzo will have a show this year along with a Midnight Witch Hanging on top of the Parody hanging they have every year and new Trading card set for 2012

Currently they are posting cryptic hints on “Trick or Treat” and have not yet elaborated on whether this will be a new maze, concept, show or what this is… The only clues are that they said they are bringing Halloween back to Haunt and you will be able to Trick or Treat at Haunt… now as to what this means (hopefully its a maze concept)… I have been wracking my brain on it… LOL!

  3. For those of you interested, the Ghost Town Miners are the former Miner 49ers that used to perform over in DCA across from the rapids ride. They were let go by Disney back in February/March time frame. Disney’s loss is Knotts’ gain!!! A whole lot of Miner fans (including myself) have purchased passes so we can enjoy their wonderful music once again.

    • That is FANTASTIC news Wendygirl! Thank you for the tip. They are a perfect fit for Knott’s. Love all the new entertainment in the park. They are certainly trying to enhance the experience for the repeat visitors.

    • Excellent news about the Miner 49ers coming to Knott’s. They’re great!

  4. They announced a new maze at Knott’s today called Trick or Treat, no specifics on where it is located, but there will be a secret that goes with the maze that they haven’t announced yet. It will be designed by Brooke Walters.

    • they said that it would be located backstage in the comments of their facebook post.

  5. Can we add Knott’s to In the parks. It is a So-Cal original!!!!!!

  6. Knott’s have announced “Trick or Treat” will be a new maze along with a limited edition mask and bag along with a number of 40th anniversary Items for a nominal fee, so you can tick or treat in the Quere prior to the maze.No word on what the nominal fee is.Also additional surprises to come….

  7. They also just announced a new VIP maze named TRAPPED that you will have to make reservations for to get in. I believe it will be located where the lazer tag right by the arcade in the boardwalk area

  8. The Green Witch to take over Knott’s Scary Farm…$60.00 is the price set for the new VIP Maze which will allow 1-6 guests to enter alone with the monsters and trying to find a way out.Sound familiar? You must make a reservation to enter which will become available when their tickets go on sale sometime in mid August. They also say that day of the event spaces that are still available will be 75.00. The Green witch is the original master of the haunt, stems from the H.R. puff-N-stuff show in the 70′s. of which they had a stage show.It seems most of all mazes will be revamped for the 40th Anniversary .
