There’s a whole new world awaiting you in the MiceChat Round Up today.  Not only do we have the latest in Disney and Theme Park news and information, but we have a full collection of Gumball Rally trip reports from the big event. However, the major news of the week comes from an updated Little Mermaid attraction in Disney California Adventure.  Is the new backlight treatment the answer to the troubled Under the Sea sequence?  We think so.  But Disney has bigger fish to fry as they face the looming threat of Universal and their major Harry Potter announcements out of Orlando.  Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringott’s attraction will be giving the Seven Dwarves Mine Train coaster a run for its money when it opens this summer, and we have a ton of pics and video to share with you, directly from the source.  All of this, plus the vast collection of podcasts from the MicePod and brand new Haunted Mansion show and Communicore Weekly.

Singles and Doubles
There’s an old-time baseball tradition of discussing team strategies as either being “singles and doubles” or “home runs,” with the first strategy being about slow, methodical progress and the latter about big, lurching mini-victories that are harder to obtain. There’s a little of “tortoise and the hare” reasoning in the analogy, and the entire model could be fruitfully applied to the battle royale we’ve got going on now in Orlando between WDW and Universal (and the metaphorical knife fight we’re seeing now between Disney and Universal fans online!)

MiceChat Podcast

Our latest podcast is literally a walk in the park. Doug, David and Dusty wander Disneyland’s historic trails and byways and share lots of fun info and stories along the way. We also chat with some MicePod listeners about their experiences in the park. Then we teleport back to the MicePod studios to discuss the ride count at Disneyland Resort versus Walt Disney World. Which resort wins? It’s a fun and lively show which will leave you wanting to book a trip to the parks. Take a listen to our most rapidly downloaded show ever.
