A thickening fog is swirling ominously above Buena Park California.  Some say it’s the seasonal June Gloom blowing in from the Pacific.  Others say it’s just nasty fumes from Fountain Valley.  But here at MiceChat we know that it can only mean one thing . . . HAUNT is coming.

Just a few moments ago, Knott’s Berry Farm announced that their annual Halloween Haunt will be returning this year with 24 nights of scary fun. The largest most haunted experience in Southern California returns September 25 – November 1.

Event dates are:
September 25, 26, 27,

October 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31 & Nov. 1.

Knott’s Scary Farm is open from 7pm until 1am Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and until 2am Fridays and Saturdays.

Killer deals will be available later this summer when tickets go on-sale.

There’s some GREAT news about this year’s Haunt. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, will be returning with shows twice a night!

Back by overwhelming demand, Elvira, the legendary Mistress of the Dark, will headline the 1,800 seat Ghoul Time Theater twice nightly through the entire run of Scary Farm.  Elvira’s all-new show will feature her signature blend of comedy and sass, along with singing, dancing, and explosive special effects!

One last tidbit of ghoulish fun that Knott’s tossed out was the return of the Skeleton Key rooms on many of the mazes at the event.

Also returning in 2014 are the terrifying secrets behind the locked doors in Skeleton Key Rooms.  First introduced in 2013, Fright Lane with Skeleton Key offers front-of-line access to all mazes and unlocks unnerving terrors in exclusive scenes in select mazes.  This year, Knott’s Scary Farm Skeleton Key rooms will be entirely new and more frighteningly interactive than ever.  Also new this year is the collectible keychain that commemorates your harrowing journey through the Skeleton Key rooms (while supplies last).  Fright Lane with Skeleton Key will go on sale with Knott’s Scary Farm tickets later this summer, and join the conversation using #ScaryFarm.

24 nights of amazing fun in the fog, Elvira, and all new Skeleton Key rooms.  We can’t wait to see what else Knott’s Scary Farm has in store for us.  How about you?

(Join us for the 7th annual MiceChat Knott’s Scary Farm Haunt Meet on Saturday September 27th.  It will be an all-inclusive night of dinner, behind the scenes tours, and VIP access to the mazes and shows.    Tickets will go on sale shortly so mark your calendars now!)

Thanks, Norm! I’m planning on joining you on the 27th! You’re going to limit the group to 20, right? (Kidding!)

P.S. I joined Micechat at Knott’s for three or four years in a row, but then went with other friends for a couple of years. Once the park is open early for the Pre-Scare Boo-fet people, I suggest a maze death march, hitting all of them, then seeing the second performance of the Hanging. (Who will die this year?) I also suggest going to TGIF for a beer before waiting for the Micechat Boo-fet if anyone wants to meet up.

If any of you have never been to the Scary Farm or on a Micechat event, feel free to show up alone. This is a welcoming group with many fellow Disney freaks, and I felt at home the second year I joined them, even though I showed up without any friends of my own that year. The Knott’s leaders treat Micechatters like VIPs.
