Happy Independence Day everyone! Looking for somewhere fun to spend the Fourth of July in Southern California?  We have a listing of what the major area theme parks are doing to commemorate the holiday, plus, we’ve round up some of the other fireworks displays that revelers might want to know about.

Aside from the in-park entertainment that is currently offered right now in the park, Knott’s will celebrate the 4th with a fireworks show at 10:00 pm.

FREE ADMISSION FOR SERVICE MEN and WOMEN
Knott’s Berry Farm and all three Southern California Knott’s Soak City water parks –Palm Springs, San Diego and Buena Park will be offering FREE admission to active and retired United States Military personnel July 4 through 6 as part of their Tribute to the Armed Forces.


CityWalk 7:00-10:00pm

A wide variety of DJs will take over the 5 Towers stage in CityWalk with Dance Parties, Battles and Guest Appearances. DJ Spryte will be performing, with DJ HowLy opening.

Park hours on July 4th ~ 10 AM to 9 PM
Legoland will launch fireworks beging at 8:30 pm on July 4th for their Red, White and BOOM! celebration. Patriotic music and pyrotechnics. There will also be live music shows at 5:30 and 7:30 pm. There are also fireworks on Saturdays at 8:30 pm.


July fourth is the last day of the fair. They will be launching fireworks at ~ 9:30 at the San Diego County Fairgrounds in Del Mar.

Hours – 9am-11pm

“Into the Blue” Fireworks at Seaworld are scheduled to launch at 9:30 pm. You can also view the fireworks for free from Mission Bay Park.


The Queen Mary in Long Beach is offering a full day event with a variety of entertainment offerings.

  • Maureen & The Mercury 5 (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • Beatles vs. Beach Boys (5:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m.)
  • Entertainment on the Bow
  • DJ Gil (5:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m.)

General Admission includes ship access, Self-Guided Audio Tour, best fireworks view in Long Beach and live entertainment. Food and Beverage is additional.

The only local park not celebrating the 4th of July this year appears to be Six Flags.

Hours 10:30am-9:00pm
Normal park hours and entertainment.

YORBA LINDA VETERANS PARK -FREE
Entertainment begins 5:00 p.m. Fireworks begin 9:00 p.m. – FREE
4756 Valley View Ave., Yorba Linda / 4777 Casa Loma Ave., Yorba Linda

TORRANCE BEACH -FREE
The Briles family of Torrance will once again have its privately funded fireworks show. Fireworks will begin between 9 – 9:15 p.m. from the barge.

WOODLAND HILLS, WARNER RANCH PARK – FREE/ Parking $15
The entertainment begins at 6pm, Fireworks at 9pm

HUNTINGTON BEACH
The Hunting Beach tradition continues with the Fourth of July Parade running from 10am to 12:00pm
Fireworks will be launched over the ocean at 9pm.  Visit the event website for more information and details

NEWPORT BEACH
This fireworks celebration claims to be the largest display to be held along the Southern California Coast.  Admission to the the festival grounds also carry the largest price tag at $60.00 per car load or $20 for walk-ins.

DANA POINT
Free Fireworks Display can be seen anywhere along Dana Point coast at 9pm.  Two of the most popular areas are Lantern Bay Park and Heritage Park.
