Hello, and welcome to Dateline Disney World! This week, we’re taking a look at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Frozen Summer Fun that has just started. Let’s go!
More mercy and food for Frozen.
It was a difficult week for a driver on Lights, Motors, Action. The hero car missed his mark when jumping from a window onto a ramp disguised as a big rig. The car hit a support beam and ripped part of its roof off. The other cars on stage came to an immediate stop. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt. Here’s a bit of video of the crash from YouTube user Callan Seaman. Note that as soon as the show goes awry, red lights go off in all of the other vehicles and they all come to a stop. It’s amazing to watch:
One of the ‘attractions’ for the summer is the Frozen Funland, which has ice skating, snowman building, and more chances to spend money.
I know I’m not the target demographic for this, but I was in here for about 6 minutes before I was ready to leave.
That’s all I’ve got for this week. Like I said before, I know that I’m not the target for this sort of thing, but it really just wasn’t for me. The Frozen hype is something that has actually turned me off to the franchise, and the event here at DHS kind of screams cash-grab to me. Some will argue that this is to combat the amazing Diagon Alley over at Universal, and I’m not sure if it is or isn’t. Either way, people are coming to DHS and spending lots of money and waiting lots of time to get into the merchandise offerings here, so you can’t really blame Disney for capitalizing on something like this.
