DCA Gets Frozen This Winter

The plan to install Frozen into HollywoodLand that we told you about in the last Miceage Update has been expanded further. Now the Frozen fun will also be taking over the Disney Animation attraction across Hollywood Blvd. The Fastpass-only character meet n’ greet will move into the Turtle Talk lobby, the Animation Academy will be drawing Frozen characters almost exclusively, and the video clips playing in the lobby will be cycling through lots of Frozen material. A brand new musical stage show will be installed in MuppetVision, and Frozen-themed ice skating will go into Stage 17. DCA’s HollywoodLand will become FrozenLand this holiday season.

Food prices go up and Halloween Time creeps in as Disneyland enjoys a brief off-season

Food prices jumped at many Disneyland Resort restaurants last week, raising some entree prices as much as $2 in some cases. The price hikes come as the park enjoyed a brief off-season as it gears up for the popular Halloween Time, which begins on Friday. Meanwhile, work continue on projects including the ongoing Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage refurbishment as well as on new projects, including the removal of overflow retail space in quiet corner of New Orleans Square. Over in Disney California Adventure, Duffy the Disney Bear has packed up and sailed away as the park gets ready to welcome Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

George and Jeff Review Disney Declassified by Aaron Godlberg

George: When you scan the literature of Disney-related books, you tend to run into a lot of of general history, travel and social discourse. One area that’s not been covered much concerns the legal and illegal things that have taken place at Disney parks and with the Disney Company. Disney Declassified: Tales of Real Life Disney Scandals, Sex, Accidents and Deaths by Aaron Goldberg attempts to tackle some of the darker and more unethical moments in Disney history. As a caveat, Disney Declassified looks at some pretty negative things (like people trying to rip off the company and lawsuits going both ways) and can change how you view Disney. This is definitely a book in which you’ll need to remove your rose-colored Mouse Ears.
