Oswald the Lucky Rabbit returns to Disney California Adventure and the crowds are dapper at the Disneyland Resort. This week there is looming speculation that Captain EO may not return as Big Hero 6 moves into the Magic Eye Theater. We also take a look at video of the new Paint the Night parade from Hong Kong Disneyland. We hope you like it because a version of it is likely coming for Disneyland’s 60th.  We can’t forget to tell you all about the big MiceChat events this fall for Halloween and the MiceChat Invasion of Orlando!  All of this along with selections from the MicePod and MiceTube channels. Let’s get started.

It’s The End Of The World [Showcase] As We Know It
We all knew this was coming. The rumors trace back to last December. Epcot’s Maelstrom attraction is being replaced by a Frozen attraction. While the rumor has existed for months, it  became real on Friday. Two Twitter hashtags have emerged to #SaveMaelstrom and #SaveWorldShowcase. Fans are upset, but we are often upset. This time it’s different, this time it’s personal.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit arrives as Halloween Time returns to Disneyland
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit made his first official in-park appearance on Disney California Adventure‘s Buena Vista Street on Sunday, marking the character’s big debut in American Disney theme parks. Despite the Southern California heat wave that bumped Disneyland temperatures over 100 degrees, fans turned out for Oswald’s first day, giving him an extra-warm welcome to Anaheim. Meanwhile, Disneyland‘s popular Halloween Time is now in full swing, with the park decked out with seasonal attractions like Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday now running. On top of all of that, various refurbishments and construction continues, with the park getting spruced up here and there before next year’s big 60th Anniversary celebration.
