It’s Friday and time for a brand new update from the Disneyland Resort from In The Parks. Between the last time that we covered the park on Monday and now there has been plenty to update you on. Of course we share the latest pumpkin carvings from the Big Thunder Ranch Halloween Time Carnival. But we also journey forth to see that snow has begun to fall on Sleeping Beauty Castle and check on the progress of it’s a small world holiday as the holidays are slowly moving in. We round things out with refurbishment news of the impending closure of the Boudin Bakery Tour and the news that Frozen may be delayed in Hollywood Land a few weeks. We know we mentioned a Universal update this week, but we will get to it soon. There’s just too much coming our of Disneyland to take a break.
Christmas is Coming
The Holiday festivities officially begin on November 13th at the Disneyland Resort and already the signs are popping up everywhere. Stores are selling Christmas merchandise, Lights are being strung on it’s a small world, and snow is finally collecting on the spires of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
it’s a small world Holiday
As we mentioned, it’s a small world is currently down to install the popular it’s small world holiday. We can’t decide which version we like better actually.
Along the small world mall the fake snow, or rather, snoap cannons, are in position and ready to rain foamy white bubbles down on the masses.
China Closet
Meanwhile the China Closet store on Main Street U.S.A. is in full-tilt Christmas mode.
Halloween Time
Let’s not forget the ongoing Halloween Time festivities throughout the resort. Not the least of which are the wonderful things happening over at Big Thunder Ranch. This past week the barnyard animals were out in their spooky finest and there were plenty of new pumpkins carved for us to enjoy.
Big Thunder Ranch
It’s always a joy when the animals are out to say hello.
Back in the Festival Arena we see a whole new set of Pumpkins mixed in with the pieces we saw last week.
Refurb Roundup
A scattering of refurbishments are planned for Disneyland through November. Some are to install overlays for the holidays, others are just maintenance. All of this leads to the 60th, and we can expect a lot more on the way.
Jungle Cruise • Monday, Nov. 3rd – Thursday, Nov 13th
The world famous Jungle Cruise will be going down for a two week refurbishment, presumably to offer minor maintenance and install the Jingle Cruise Holiday overlay.
Snow White’s Scary Adventures Wednesday • Nov. 12th andThursday, Nov. 13th
Pinocchio’s Daring Journey • Nov. 12th and Thursday, Nov. 13th
Mark Twain Riverboat
The Mark Twain Riverboat is getting the finishing touches and should be returning to service in mid-November.
In The Park
Here are a few shots that we picked up from inside Disneyland that, while not exactly fitting into a newsworthy category, are nice images from the place we love.
Frozen
As we mentioned in a recent MiceAge update, the plans to bring Frozen to the Hollywood Land area of the park have been delayed slightly. With the current plan, Anna and Elsa should be arriving in this corner of the park on December 20th. This could, of course change at any time as it has not been officially announced just yet.
Christmas Creep in DCA
While not as elaborate with decorations as Disneyland is, Disney California Adventure is already seeing signs of the holidays.
Refurbishment Round Up
