Resolutions. I know, easy to make but not likely to keep. In fact, I’m two days into spring semester, and I already broke my resolution to be prepared with a lunch to avoid noshing on cafeteria fare. But Disney resolutions? Those have a little more magic behind them, and I have a new list this year!

1. Expand My Disney Horizons (Shining and New!)

I’m a Disney World girl, no doubt. Now, I love Walt’s park. Grew up on it spending a part of my childhood living in SoCal, and I’ve even taken the kidlets to the place it all began, but for some reason, we always make our way back East when we hit the parks. Especially with the diamon anniversary upon us, 2015 seems like a great year to go West. And for extra credit, we may even slip a Disney cruise in the mix, too.

2. Jump Off the Track

In addition to trying new destinations, I definitely want to branch out a bit when we travel Walt Disney World. We tend to gravitate toward the same restaurants, attractions and even gift shops. To be honest, I can probably tell you what happened, in order, the last five times we set foot in Hollywood Studios (Star Tours, send kids to Animation building, FastPass Tower of Terror, single rider for Aerosmith, then meet back up to Toy Story FastPasses). Even in the smallest of parks, there are numerous nooks and crannies we’ve yet to explore, and it’s time to break the trend.

3. Explore New Resorts

I’ll be the first to admit, I love a deluxe resort. It was partly a necessity in the days of early travel for the kidlets because we took on the World with a party of five or six, and if we wanted to stay together, our options were limited to Vacation Club villas and select deluxe rooms. Now that the littles (or not-so-littles anymore) and I visit on our own, as well, we have the flexibility to try moderates and value properties, as well as some deluxe options that weren’t a possibility with extended family in tow. I know I’ve got my eye on a Royal Room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside and trying out all of the themed rooms at Art of Animation!

4. Bring Friends

While traveling with a crew isn’t new to us, I resolve to do it more often this year! There’s nothing like Disney, and experiencing it with your pals is a great way to do it. I really love taking friends who are brand new to the parks, as it’s so much fun planning through the eyes of a first-timer, especially if there are kids in the mix. And, really, it doesn’t hurt to split the cost of a vacation. 😉

5. Put the Camera Down

This will 100% be the hardest resolution for me to keep. I LOVE capturing moments on video or in picture, but it can sometimes mean I miss out on some of the fun. My camera is my right hand on vacation, and I feel a little lost without it but plan to leave it in the room (or at least my bag) on occasion in 2015. While we love looking back on the memories, sometimes it should just be a moment I capture in my mind.

Disney Resolutions: Enjoy the little things.

What about you? What are your Disney resolutions? And while we’re thinking, I hope 2015 brings you lots of fun, tons of magic and a boatload of memories!
