Frozen fun is officially set to come to the Disney Cruise Line this summer 2015 with a treasure trove of new experiences onboard and off. Fittingly, the film and its beloved characters – Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf – are set to extensively join the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder for select Norwegian and Alaskan adventures respectively. The Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Castaway Cay get their own special touches as well.

A Day of Frozen Fun

The Kingdom of Arendelle sets up shop onboard for a very special day of Frozen-themed events as a transformed icicle-filled atrium – a la Queen Elsa’s ice palace – sets the initial scene. The list of available meet-and-greets and scheduled experiences for the whole family is described by the cruise line below:

  • Memorable moments with Anna, Elsa, and for the first time in forever, Kristoff and Olaf
  • “Anna’s Chase for the Chocolate” scavenger hunt for those who share Anna’s sense of adventure, with a special surprise for finishing the game
  • “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” activity where kids take on Elsa’s magical powers to make snow and ice
  • “The Maypole Swirl and Twirl” for families to learn a traditional Scandinavian dance spinning and braiding giant ribbons
  • Frozen-themed dining experience, including a menu inspired by traditional Nordic fare and special dishes inspired by the film

The grand evening is crowned with “Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends” interactive deck party highlighting the royal sisters and extended cast of characters, as well as giant snowflakes, icicles and snow-covered rocks donning the upper decks.

Set to the film’s ice-cutting scene, a line dance kicks off the festivities as Princess Anna and Kristoff arrive as he kinetically twirls his ice picks in the air.

Sven, the trolls and Olaf also get in on the act virtually as Sven plays reindeer games with guests such as “Sven Says” and the “Troll Stroll.” Olaf similarly leads a sing-along to “In Summer,” likely on the Funnel Vision giant screen overlooking the deck.

Then Elsa makes her entrance with a “snowy gust of wind,” inviting the crowd to help her magically chill the deck for Olaf by singing “Let It Go.” After more family dancing, the fun evening on deck winds down.

Enhanced Production Show

The production show, “Disney Dreams … An Enchanted Classic” onboard the Disney Magic has even been reimagined to feature the Frozen gang, making their stage debut in the Walt Disney Theatre.

The original Disney characters join together with Anna, Elsa and Olaf to teach a young girl the power of dreaming. New numbers include “Let it Go,” “For the First Time in Forever” and “In Summer.”

New special effects like a theatre snowfall and the transformation of the young girl’s room into an ice palace add the magical finishing touches.

Fleet-wide Meet and Greets

Fleet-wide – on the Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, Disney Wonder and Disney Magic – guests will be able to meet and have their photos taken with Anna, Elsa and Olaf as part of their royal tour starting this summer as well.

Special Norwegian Port Adventures

As the Disney Magic sails to Norway, the country that inspired the land of Arendelle, Port Adventures will reveal the real land’s magic. One special Disney-exclusive excursion in Ålesund, Norway will feature a storybook village with Anna and Elsa along for the ride. Other excursions additionally highlight the nature, architecture and culture depicted in the movie.

Seven and nine-night cruises set sail June 6, 2015, sailing through Norwegian fjords and calling on ports including Stavanger, Ålesund, Geiranger, Molde, Olden and Bergen, Norway.

Olaf’s Summertime Freeze on Castaway Cay

Even in the Caribbean, Olaf makes waves this summer with Olaf’s Summertime Freeze bar new on Castaway Cay. The watering hole will serve non-alcoholic specialty frozen drinks in souvenir cups like “Olaf’s Flurry Freeze,” “Sven’s Carrot Delight” and “Warm Hugs.” The bar will be located close to the Pelican Point tram stop by Castaway Cay Family Beach.
