The AMC theater at Universal Studios Hollywood’s CityWalk is holding a special event to celebrate the arrival of the new Furious 7 movie. Advance screenings of Furious 7 will be held starting every seven minutes after the hour beginning on Thursday, April 2.  The AMC Theatre will also bridge the gap to this latest film with a two-day movie marathon at CityWalk, featuring all previous six Fast & Furious films on Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 2.

The Furious 7 takeover provides guests with an exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with genuine artifacts from the new movie, including the 1967 Camaro that character Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) drives. Located on CityWalk, outside the AMC Theatre, the grey muscle car—with its 500 horsepower and 4×4 tires—offers fans a picture perfect photo opp through Sunday, April 5.

An elaborate new soundstage, thematically designed to represent a giant abandoned automotive repair shop, was constructed on the legendary backlot to house this new mega-attraction.

The sprawling new structure has impressive stats:

  • Building size: 65,000 square feet
  • Length: 809 feet, longer than two football fields, end to end.
  • Height: 58 feet
  • Width: 140 feet at its widest point
  • Screen: one continuous compound curved screen spanning nearly 400 feet in length and 40 feet in height to fully encircle Studio Tour guests
  • Projectors: 34 – 4K projectors
  • Audio: 80,000 watts at 108 decibels of sound will emanate from 56
highly efficient speakers, with 44 discrete audio channels strategically situated throughout the attraction and located behind the massive screen, which is filled with millions of holes to enable streamlined directional audio.

Universal released a first-look at the making of the film aspect of the attraction below.

Any Fast and Furious fans out there? Did you miss out on any of the previous films and look forward to getting caught up this week at Universal CityWalk?
